If you follow @jpgolfco on Instagram he released the Premier or concept wedge today. Billed as golf’s most expensive wedge to make. I am told there are only about 30 or so prototypes in the world and really wanted to get one of these so I bought the 58 before it was too late. JP is a good friend and I have owned all of his designs. I know this isn’t for everyone but just wanted to share. Two of the pics are in hand and the rest were taken at his new studio.

Maybe a dumb question: Is this a wedge you will actually play? I'm really curious how the wedge plays, as it looks like a really interesting design.

It looks good, but do all of his wedges have the exact same shape?

Thanks guys, the wedge is constructed from a Forged carbon steel body, internal and external tungsten weighting, titanium back plate (black PVD). His wedges do have a similar general overall shape to them yes. If he were still with Titleist I imagine this would be the next generation to that wedge as it is a progression from that design but incorporating the old style visible external tungsten weights. Yes, I’ll be gaming this next season, unfortunately in Minneapolis, the season is pretty much wrapped
    Up for me until April.

Those look amazing! I had the chance to try one out a Patrick design and it was a great wedge and it didn't even fit me. Nice pick up!

I get buying an expensive putter that looks cool. It’s taken care of and remains in excellent condition even when played for years.

But a wedge? It looks nice now. But after a year of being played, it’s going to look beat up. Personally, I wouldn’t spend a premium on a custom set of wedges like that.

And yes, that’s a really slick looking wedge.

Bite your tongue. It’ll be a high of 44* today... Let’s play!
Wasn’t JP located in Minneapolis by Manning’s bar on Como for a while? What ever happened to that, I never made it to the shop and regret it.

That looks awesome. Big fan of his stuff but something like that I don’t think I could allow it to see the course. I’d probably keep in the office. Would love to try some of his more subdued pieces on the course though.

Yes, the family goes to Destin, FL every year so I’ll get 3 rounds in. Other than that, I have a Skytrak simulator setup in the garage that I hit on a few times a week. Sprinkle in some TopGolf and I manage to get some swings in. You?

Saying JP "released" these 'Premier' wedges is a bit misleading. Every picture of the Premier wedges ends with some version of "TBD if and when available".

So, that begs the question how did you get one and what did it set you back?

You forgot to answer how much they cost. Or do you pay less than non-friends? What would the price be for someone that isn’t a good friend?

Definitely looks cool. It was a shame that his time working with Titleist didn’t really produce much in terms of output.
