Recent Photos of You Playing

I'd love to see some action photos from folks around here. I'll go first. This was a recent Saturday morning on the range.

I immediately recognized the first photo as St. Andrews. Hole 1, I think. I'd love to play that course some day.

18th tee, but you can see the first fairway to the left and the clubhouse in the distance - kind of like the first hole, just about all the room in the world as long as you aren't headed right in a hurry, lol.

Took me decades to finally get there, but worth the wait - you'll get there!

Midwest USA. Just a matter of waiting for the right time so the whole family could enjoy all aspects of a trip to Scotland.

I assume you mean UT - Texas not UT- Tennessee.

Sorry, it's too darn cold to golf and Iowa doesn't play today - taking a break from hauling and tossing crap from the dreaded storage room.

My hometown is Springfield. I just moved back after 25 years away. Never thought I would, but here I am. I've lived in many places including several in Illinois: Springfield, Peoria area, Champaign/Urbana, Dekalb, Chicago (city and NW burbs). I'm a member at Panther Creek. Have you ever played?

Yes, I meant UT Austin. :)

Do you ever go back to Austin? I was there for undergrad from 98-02. Went back from 14-16. Very different city. Most of that old vibe is gone. Still a great city with a traffic problem.

A couple pictures from the last year of golf:

One of the best fairway bunker shots of my career, this 5 iron would eventually find itself 15 feet from the hole from 180 yards for a 2-putt par.

A great drive en route to an OB approach and a double.

It didn't even come close, although it's a cool angle.

The cloud was quite high in the sky as I recall. The weather in Palm Spring the last week of May 2019 was unseasonably mild from what we were told by staff at the golf courses we played. For us PacNW’ers, mid 80’s was ideal golf weather. I thought the picture was cool because my wife was able to catch the ball in flight in the cloud. That picture was taken on the PGA West Nicklaus Course. The approach shot in the second picture at Indian Wells Celebrity Course ended up 4 feet for birdie which went in centre of the cup.

The only course I remember playing was the Rail.

My grandfather played there for decades. The LPGA used to play there every year. It's really gone downhill. New ownership. He'd be very sad if he saw how it is now.

Panther Creek is the nicest course down here. It was designed by Hale Irwin. Bent grass fairways and greens. It's beautiful and challenging. We have a Korn Ferry event every year (LPGA came here after they left the Rail. State Farm dropped their sponsorship and that was that).
