Wilson Staff 2020

Anyone have news on W/S for 2020?

I'm assuming C400/C400 forged, new FG Tour wedges and a replacement for the V6.

Driving iron flashes and slight pics on their IG. V6 Tour along with V5 Tour were some classic irons. The newer blades had a lot of love too.

They have been teasing a driving iron lately.

I'm still waiting for them to release the prototype driving iron that popped up late last winter, and I think Woodland had in the bag when he won the U.S. Open (or he at least had it in the bag at some point).

I’d like to see more RAW wedges, seems like no more FG Tour but the Staff Model equivalent.

With all the blade talk around here I'm really surprised there's not more talk about the Wilson Staff blades. No one makes better looking blades than Wilson.

Lol I’m surprised you guys haven’t seen W/S teasing it this past week, it’s all over their IG. Expect a full reveal this week at some point

Hope they comeback in RAW, if not now maybe a year or two.

would love to have a go with that 15* sporting a DG S300 it looks like a fairway finder on narrow par 4s to me!

I just hope whatever they bring out can take you using water to clean them unlike the D7 which would hold water in the irons...

Are these new blades going to be available in LH?

The staff model blades are available in lefty, the utility appears to be only righty

I hope not, we still have all 6 of the Cortex drivers we got. They are just now in the 50% off bin not moving..

From everything I've seen and heard the Cortex is a good driver.

It is good or at least decent. It just didnt sell. Very few were going to pay $499 for a driver from wilson.

It's a very good club for the $279 I paid for mine. The problem I had with it was the show, which was really just a brand awareness campaign that produced a product. The show was unnecessary, badly produced and frankly a waste of time. I think there was probably other stuff Wilson could have done to raise awareness of the brand w/out having to do that show. And if you're not going to produce complementary FW's and hybrids it was really just a road to nowhere IMO. But as to the quality of the actual product itself it is very good. Looks great. Sound and feel are of course very subjective but I think its one of their better offerings in that regard. Performance wise it keeps up with anything newer from a distance perspective. Directionally I would say it falls middle of the pack forgiveness wise.

Its pretty clear that their focus is on producing outstanding irons and wedges - which they do. People harp that no pro games their woods and my response to that is why would they? Woods development is not a priority for Wilson to the point they would need to go to secure Tour presence. Look at TM, Titleist, and Callaway. Multiple full woods lines going concurrently at any one time. That costs a lot of money and I'd guess that the development budget Wilson Golf gets from the parent company just isn't going to allow for that. As a result you get what you get from Wilson in the woods department. Some lines like the FG Tour M3 are just OK. Some like the F5 I didn't care for any of it. And a pretty good offering in a one off like the Cortex that is forever hitched to the hokey show that produced it.

I love the idea of driver vs driver. I think it could have been great!

I'm currently offloading as much as I possibly can on eBay to raise funds for the Staff Model blades. Although the factory fitter here in Scotland is brutally honest (but brilliant) and talked me out of the FG100's before.........

I'm contemplating the Staff Model blades myself...thinking of a mixed set, Blades 6-PW, 4 and 5 the C300 or V6...oh, a 52* and 56* in the new wedges too.

I currently play Callaway 2018 Forged 4-Pw and play to a 1 ish. I play in State Tournaments and a couple USGA stuff, so maybe that extra forgiveness from cavity backs is needed. Those blades are beautiful though.

Discount Dans gave me a quote for the 6-Pw, ball's in my court now.
