## Golfing Ghost Story II

Mr. Robert Shawn had 43 years old when he went for the first time to The Peace Golf Club. The day was cold and calmed. A perfect day for a solo round, he thought. Mr. Robert Shawn loved to play alone, he really liked to get immersed inside the game and enjoy the nature surrounding any course. He arrived at the first tee, a par 4 of 419 yards. Robert had some flaws in his game, but he was a monster off the tee. A massive drive cut the air. 327 yards carry, with a decent 9 yards roll. 336 yards in total, with only 83 yards to the flagstick. Birdie. What a start.

Three more birdies on the second, fourth and sixth holes. 4 under par in just 7 holes. Best round of this life. The best day of his golf life, he thought. The walking towards the eight hole is quite long. Around 110 yards through a winding path. The eighth hole is an extremely long par 5, with OOB at the right and tricky sand traps all around the narrow fairway. He grabbed his driver, holded the club in his left hand for about 5 seconds. “Come on Robert you can do this!” he screamed, almost cheering up for him. Robert knew that pulling a driver on that hole was very risky, especially because on the left side of the fairway there was a dense forest.

He placed the Nike ball over the tee. Two practice swings. Enough. Show time. Robert stroke the ball perfectly, so pure that his hand didn’t even feel the impact. At the time the ball was in the middle of its trip to the center of the fairway a strong wind started blowing from the right. “This can’t be possible”. The ball disappeared in the forest.

Robert couldn’t believe the situation, but he was confident on moving away from that forest with the second shot. He grew up in course with tons of trees everywhere. This was a small forest after all. Robert Shawn arrived at the forest, grabbed his 9 iron and started looking for his ball. The foliage was extremely dense, and there were thousands of leaves in the floor. “Lovely place”, he thought. After 1 minute he saw a ball, 12 yards away from him, below a sycamore tree. When he was walking towards the ball, he saw something moving behind the tree. “A fox, the area is full of foxes”.

Robert did some noises to discourage the fox. Nothing. Robert arrived at the tree and there was nothing over there. “Well, maybe the wind is playing games with my mind”, he thought. “Let’s go back to the civilization, to the middle of the fairway”. Robert took his stance to hit the ball through a small opening between some trees. Some short practice takeaways to be sure that the contact was going to be pure. “One last takeaway and let’s do this”. The club moved back up to his hip and got stuck. “What?!”

Robert looked to his right. Something was there, levitating and mumbling.

Robert was found dead two hours after the incident by the course keeper. His bag was outside the forest with all their clubs on it. Robert’s family decided to bury him in the same spot he was found. “He loved golf more than anything, he deserves to be there”. The autopsy revealed a heart stroke. The case was closed by the local police within hours.
