Memorable day

In your golf career... which day would you remember as a memorable day???

I have a couple good ones. First hole in one, first tournament win, shooting under par at bethpage black, but I would say my most memorable round would be my last college round at conference championships.

We had already played so bad and shot ourselves out of the tournament, so the last day was definitely my last round with the team. The night before I had injured my wrist on the range (turned out to be the beginning of a long term injury), but I obviously insisted on playing. My coach followed me around all round and, through the pain, I shot my first ever bogey free round to close out my college career.

I have several. 1st time beating my best friend who was a D1 player, my last round at Wingpointe golf course before it closed with the guys I grew up playing and working with, a round at Nellis AF Base with my dad (who is not a golfer) where he was even par through 8 and I shot 74. He was so happy about both our rounds.

Funny thing is my best memory is really the feeling I used to get when I was younger and was out playing the courses in the Utah mountains with my friends. Just a sense of pure satisfaction. Golf, friends, nature, and not a house or a negative thought in sight.

I can remember a round at Dad Miller golf course back in the late 90's with my high school buddies like it was yesterday. My buddy Dan plunked a guy two fairways over on the front 9 and on the 18th he got drilled in the stomach by our friend Dante. Dante took a Happy Gilmore swing and sent an 'ole hozzle rocket into Dan while he was up on a hill. Dan crumpled like a sack of potatoes and on his way down the hill took his pull cart with him, the ensuing yard sale of clubs and balls was the funniest thing I have ever seen on a course.

Easily the time I beat the guy that was two years older than me on my high school golf team. He was a good friend and also a master at shit talk - and also the best player on the team. After a particularly vicious practice round, I was like "Dude, 9 holes - stroke play for $20. Imma shut you the fuck up."

$20 is a decent chunk for a couple of high school kids in the mid 90s!

We were tied going into the 9th hole and I honestly forget where his approach went. Mine was about 20 feet from the cup. Our "gallery" was all the other guys on the golf team.

I rolled that one in to win by a stroke to many cheers from dudes that'd ALSO been at the end of his shit talk.

I will never forget that putt.
