there goes the not buying anything this offseason

I told myself I was not going to buy any equipment (except golf balls) this offseason.

Then I get an email from Callaway Preowned. BOGO fairway woods.

Needless to say a 3 wood and 5 wood are on there way

How can you turn down a free fairway wood

You need to change your perspective here. Basically, you're stimulating the economy. Look at the component companies whose employees now have work because of your thoughtful efforts. Look at the delivery driver, the person in the warehouse that packaged your order, etc. In reality, you're a great American by stimulating the economy and if more people were like you, the economy would be flourishing. I for one laud you and think you're a role model for all of us to follow.

As long as our significant others don't catch us.

Too late for that Mr Pelz

Here was the conversation this morning

Wife: What did you spend $200 on paypal at Callaway golf for

ME; (trying to use her logic ) but I saved $180

The code was woods19 if I remember correctly

I had the exact same experience. As recently as Sunday I was telling myself I wasn't buying anything new this winter and waiting for the spring to get fit for new fairway woods/hybrids. Monday morning the email comes and as of tomorrow (according to tracking) I'll have two new (to me) fairway woods and a new (to me) hybrid that I can stare at for the next 4-5 months. I'm sending a couple clubs back for trade-in so it makes the conversation even easier when you can say that there will be a credit coming for some/most of the charge.

For those curious about the deals, they also have BOGO wedges and putters (code = Short19) and 30-50% drivers (Drivers19).

I've hit that site so many times this year (few gifts) that they sent me a post card with a coupon code to call them for special order pricing. I am sure others go that but in the age of email and online codes...a postcard?

Serious stuff.

Trying hard not to call and ask about Epic Flash heads...

Guilty as well. Wasn't really in the market for new irons but saw the Apex cf16 listed at a good price net of discounts so pulled the trigger. Outlet grade and you can tell they are brand new. Hit a few balls and they feel great. Temps were in the low 40's so anxious to see how they perform in warmer weather.

3 wood is an Epic , 5 wood a Rogue. Could not find both in "Like new condition" . I bought my putter from the preowned site before. It was listed as "Like new" The thing still had the plastic on it.

I already have an Epic and a Rogue driver. Bouth the Rogue as a head only because I had 2 shafts for the Epic. Now I interchange the shafts in them and can't decide which combo I like better.

When Callaway has that sale the hardest thing for me is not RE-PURCHASING something I already sold or traded in. Its like an old girlfriend.....months later you cannot remember why you dumped her.

Bought 2 putters that I just received. Ordered both in "like new" condition. Both had small dings like they were dropped or lightly rubbed against concrete.

I've heard "like new" often is actually new, but in my case it was the opposite. If I were selling either of those putters personally, I would never describe them like new and would probably take close pictures pointing out the defects. On my scale, they would be a 7.5 or 8 out of 10.

I will add that their customer service was very good to work with though. So plus 1 for that.

And just think, he's also possibly keeping his local PD, coroner and other agencies busy when his significant other does find out !

Have you called them? I got a Rogue like new 3w as a gift, and it came clean except a small chip on top by the face, not even from a hit but something that visually is bothersome as its seen from address and you can't polish it out (needs to be re-sprayed).

I called up to customer service and I barely got a description of the issue out to the rep when the fellow found another in the warehouse, shipped it 2 day and gave me an RMA shipping label. My expectation was to ship off a picture for evaluation etc...nope, just took care of business in 2 minutes.

Sounds like yours may have been accidentally bumped/dropped but since new stock not really inspected just shipped.

Betting they will hook you up.

As I mentioned after that comment, the customer service was very good. My concern was more directed towards their rating of the condition of the clubs.

I have had mixed results with CPO items as well. After a couple good buys years ago, I received 2 fairways (XR16 Pro) last year in what I would consider "poor condition" (second one was a replacement and in even worse condition). Both had scratched up crowns and were listed as "good condition". I returned both for refunds, but it was a hassle.

After that experience, I'm unlikely to buy again without pics of the actual item, which CPO does not provide.

I had ordered all three of my clubs customized with new grips and extra wraps. Was disappointed to see all the old grips on them when I opened the box today, but I called customer service and they told me right away to get the grips installed locally and send them the receipt and they would credit my card. I’m happy with that response.

I looked at those woods. I feel like their stock was so low when they put the email out. I wish it had of been a better selection.
