Wondering how similar these balls play, anybody play both?

I've played both. Very similar in performance, however after playing them there was an issue with QST ball's seam was very raised on 2 balls out of a dozen. Sxrixon replaced them.

I would think the better comparison would be the B-RXS. It's compression is on par with the Srixon and all of the spin characteristics are nearly identical.

The B-RX is a confusing ball to me because on feel, it's basically on par with the B-XS. It would seem to appeal to the person who thinks the B-RXS is too soft, but doesn't want the extra spin of the B-XS. I'm sure that player exists, but I can't imagine there are a lot of him out there. I the B-RX is mostly equivalent to the AVX.

Thanks for the input, I'm currently stuck on the B330-RX, good straight distance in any condition, and just enough stopping power to produce great approach shots. My only gripe is the little extra rollout on mid/long irons, but I can adjust to land a couple yards short of pins in most cases. Once I get my gameplan down with this ball, I think the Tour B-RX is the logical next progression after my 330's runout.

Played both through out the summer. I seemed to have a little more greenside control with the Q-Star Tour. A bit too low compression for me though. The BRX was firmer, straighter off the tee, and longer with irons with decent green response. Of the two, I preferred the BRX even though I felt I needed to be more conservative around the pin.

Very good observation. I'm with you.

I have tried very hard to convince myself that one ball from the QST-RX-RXS-CS and forebears-Project (a) and forebears is The Best Ball for my game from late March through October. For me, this means several things. It has to be soft feeling (=sounding?) enough for comfortable play in Buffalo-area weather in early and late seasons while not being too mushy in the heat of summer. It has to be not-lots-less-long off the tee than the others. But it has to grab the green on scoring shots inside 50 yards as well or better than the others.

I am fortunate that the cost of golf balls is not a prime factor in my choice decision. That said, I have not found the other balls to be $5-15 "better" for me than the QST at $29.99. If the to-be-refreshed QST3 with SERM has a bit more greenside spin than QST2, I'll be all in right away.

I played the QST and BRX today and got a good feel for them. Still need another round or 2, but I have one I like better already

QST - Let me start out and say this ball is stupid straight. I hit some the straightest shots all day with this ball. I drove a par 4 with the balls flight path never moving anywhere but right on the pin. I did run into an issue with trajectory on almost all shots though. The QST ball ballooned on me. Twice the ball ballooned more than once in a single drive. It would pierce then rise then rise again. Which was odd, I had never had a ball do that. I hit the ball really high anyways, and I am not looking for a ball to launch as high as the QST does. Around the green the ball felt soft off the putter face. I prefer a firmer ball off the putter, but I know a lot of guys like a soft ball to put with. I could not get the ball to check on the green AT ALL. Honestly this wouldn't have surprised me if I also wasn't able to get the BRX to check. I like the yellow color of the QST more than the BRX. It was easier to see. Also the sound of this ball off the iron face was a low thud. When I catch the MTB-X well it make a nice click sound.

BRX - The feel of this ball next to the QST is much firmer in your hand. I liked the feel off the putter more too. the BRX and MTBX also feels lighter than the QST which I thought was odd. . The trajectory of it was piercing. Still high, but it pierced more so than the QST. I did hit 2 very long drives with it today, however I found the BRX was not as straight as the QST, but it didn't seem to get as off line as the MTB-X I played. Where this ball surprised me was green side spin. The ball was checking on almost every shot which saved my butt in some cases.

All in all the BRX is a front runner after one round. I really wanted to like the QST more because it is cheaper and I liked the ZStar, but I can't play a ball that continues to balloon like that. I'd really like to try the BX and play another box of ZStars. The BX seems like it has a lower launch but a little more spin. So far for me it goes BRX>Zstar>MTBX> QST

I just played these 2 balls today against the snell balls. Both beat both snell balls handily. I have played the RX most of the year, love the feel and it’s super straight. My ss is between 100-105 depending the day. The q star tour outdrove the RX by 5-10 yards today and it was crazy straight. Still up in the air on which ones, I have heard some seam issues on the srixon but they ARe dirt cheap so please help me make up my mind!

The opposite for me the BRX was longer than the QST. Do you hit the ball high? The QST has a crazy high launch for me
