Not sure what my swing speed is. I've played several different kinds - mainly just whatever I can find but I want to find something to stick with. I'm not too concerned about price.

Read this; it's the best thing I've ever seen. Then it's just a matter of deciding how much you want to spend. But you are heading in the right direction; quit playing whatever you find or are given, and play the same ball ALL THE TIME.

Srixon Q Star Tour. Great all round performer. Suitable for all swing speeds except maybe the big boys, and it’s not bad even for them. Consistent off the irons and decent control around the greens. Has a soft feel many guys like. Can be had currently for $19.95 a dozen. Maybe closing out for a new model. Previous retail was $29.95 with deals around $24.95, so that’s a plus.

Well your swing speed kiiiind of matters because if it's very high, then you will benefit a lot more from high compression than if you had low(er) club head speed. I don't want to assume your club speed but you can almost never go wrong with a ProV1.

If you want to play the cheapest urethane ball possible and don't mind sacrificing a little distance. The 3 piece Kirkland Signature is cheaper than all but the cheapest 2 piece distance balls. If you want to spend a little more, the Snell MTB Black and MTB-X are good picks. If you want a ball you can get at any pro shop; the Bridgestone B-XS and B-X, Titleist ProV1 and ProV1x, TM TP5 and TP5x, and Srixon Z-Star and Z-Star XV are your best bets. If you really want a ball to feel soft, want to knock off spin off irons, but still want some green side spin; Srixon Q-Star Tour, TM Project(a), Wilson Duo Pro, Bridgestone B-RXS.

I am a 16 HCP and played the DT Trusoft for most of this season and it felt great for my 85mph driver swing and was very good on the green. Naturally the Trusoft has been disctontinued and I have purchased 2 dozen of the Trufeel model but the weather has not cooperated. The fact is there are different types of golf balls and it takes some trial and error to find one that works for your swing. I can play with a ProV1 and score about the same as the Trusoft but I don't like the feel of the ProV1. Buy some sleeves and try different ball types out and then I second what others have already said - pick a ball that works for you and stick with it.

You may want to take a look at the Srixon Soft Feel. I played them for awhile and really liked them. I'd say it's comparable to the Titleist Trusoft or Callaway Supersoft. It's a really good two piece ball and as mentioned, find a ball you like and stick with it.

I should probably add that I've played the Callaway Supersoft more than any recently. It's been ok. It flies fairly straight when I do my part, but I wish it had a little more bite on the greens.

I agree on the Trusoft. If you can find some try them. I’ll be trying the Trufeel in the spring I hope it has similar feel and performance.

Plus one, I find the SF to be long for a slower swing speed. It chips nicely if you don't mind playing a low running shot. Was hoping to stock up. But, now the QST is the same price.
