Older Pro V1x distance?

Just found a couple of dozens of Pro V1x really cheap, but when I came home I checked them and it turns out its a 2009 model. How much distance will I lose compared to a newer model? anyone done a test?

You might even gain something. I had an old Titleist with the 384 on it and it was often longest when blasting drives. I've just got hold of a TS4 and it likes TP5X's and those Snell balls.

Interesting, just have to test I guess. With the older models, if I remember correctly, the Pro V1x, was significantly longer than the Pro V1.

It depends on what the "optimized" numbers are for you. A lot of the newer balls add distance by reducing spin on the shots with longer clubs. So if you are "optimized: with your current driver and a current generation ball that spins less off the driver, then adding extra spin could actually shorten your drives. But there are also a lot of people out there that have not been properly fitted and may be using a low spin driver and a low spin ball, which can cause the ball to fall out of the sky because there is not enough spin to create the lift needed to keep the ball in the air. If this is the case, then adding a little spin back into the equation could help the carry distances. So really the only way to know is to test it out and see.
