Ping G30 Driver

Anyone still game the G30 driver? I used one last year and was pretty impressed with it. Just wondering what experiences everyone else has had with it?

Great club still game one but that could change in the very near future. Club is reasonably long and still one of the most forgiving out there. It gets a bad rap for having a terribly loud sound but i actually enjoy it. I hit my friends 410 plus and there is a noticeable improvement over the G30. I can't tell you if I gained distance or not since I had no launch monitor. The feel, flight, look, and forgiveness have all been taken to the next level. The 410 just want's to go high and straight no matter where on the face you hit it. Never thought I'd hit a driver more forgiving then the G30.

Played G30 for a while. Great driver with a lot of forgiveness. I never likes the sound it made. Just switched to the 410 earlier this year. Flight was about the same. I gained about 7-10 yards with the 410 because my spin numbers were a lot better. I would still game the g30 if i had to. Nothing wrong with it (besides the sound) imo.

I've played G15, G20, G25, G30, G400 and now G400 Max, and frankly all have been outstanding. I truly haven't noticed any extra distance with any of them, mostly because variation in my misses is much more profound than any difference in the clubs performance. For the money it's hard to beat a G30. Throw in a Tour 65 shaft and you won't be giving up anything to more modern clubs (scratch golfers possibly excepted.)

I just picked up one in excellent condition with a Tour 65. I've had a few range sessions with it but it's been impressive. I was playing an Anser 8.5 but the loft was just too low. the G30 10.5* gives me the launch I need but still very low spin.

I had a G400 Max and although I can't compare side to side, but I don't feel like I'm loosing anything to the G400.

My buddy plays the G30 LST 10.5/Tour 65. He's not the longest hitter in the group but not far behind. If you can stand the sound, nothing wrong with it. I really enjoyed the G30 regular 9* head honestly. I have noticeable gains with the G400 LST 10* though..

I have one with a D+72 Whiteboard and I do not see anything knocking it out of the bag.

G30 LS Tec performed just as good as my G400 LST. However, I ultimately switched because G400 sounded and looked better (I love the more compact look with equivalent forgiveness).

G30 is still as good as any driver out there, especially when comparing to other OEM’s. It is, however, very loud with anything other than a soft ball

I still play a g30, 10.5 degrees, stock reg flex shaft at 45.25 inches. I put a few feet of yarn in the head through the weight port and the sound is outstanding — a dull muted thwack. Is it illegal because the yarn moves around? Perhaps yes perhaps no, but I’m not playing in tournaments and in any case, it does not give me an kind of advantage other than muting the sound.

So just to follow up as I had my first round with it yesterday and it didn't disappoint. Great feel and I wasn't bothered by the sound at all. But what was amazing was how straight I hit it as well as how much carry I was getting. Cut a few corners of doglegs with it that I wouldn't have considered before.

Impressive driver and can't believe I picked it up for $99 with the Tour 65 shaft in almost new condition.

I have a 9* G30 (set to 10*) with an old school Black ProjectX 6.0 shaft. It's been a great driver for me.

PING's design philosophy of high MOI and reasonably low CG is a recipe that helps the G-series drivers age a lot better than others. Based on strike location you could see an ocean of difference between something like an SLDR and an M4, but you'd see much less difference between something like the G30 and a G410. That is not to say that PING hasn't changed their drivers, just that their changes are much less drastic than the changes in the aforementioned TM drivers. The G30 still holds up performance wise very well.

I've been gaming the g25 driver for over 7 years. Broken 5 shafts but the head just won't seem to die on me. AMAZING club, i'm sure the g30 is just as good or even better. Couldn't ever get over the turbulators or whatever they were called. The g400 is definitely going to be my next purchase once the price decreases more. That club is nuts,

My backup driver at present behind my G driver but I could game it tomorrow!

Ive had a brand new G400 Max for 8 months that I haven’t even tried out on the course yet because my G25 just keeps me happy. Long(for me), solid, and very forgiving.
