P790 Bag

Had not been a “ho” for two years.

718 AP2’s for two years, TS3’s for over a year. Did flip around on wedges, but always Vokey’s.

MP20’s came; couldn’t resist MMC. After several rounds where I played well, liked them, but always had a couple of “heavy” shots that I had not been experiencing before , I took the T100’s out for a round. Solid.

Here’s the “Ho” move, that I attribute to my recent birthday.

Turned 64 beginning of November, and suddenly felt old on the course. Decided it may be time to look at something more forgiving as backups. Saw a couple of guys I used to play with back in September - both were playing the older P790’s. Ran into another guy: same story.

Ran into a guy at the shop, when I had decided to return Mizuno’s. He asked what I was looking at, and I said 790’s.

This guy could always match me as someone who went thru clubs like crazy. He smiled, and told me he had been playing them for a year, and doesn’t even look at other irons anymore.

Of course, due to my OCD about my bag....I grabbed an M5 also....just to match everything up.

Damn!

Bit surprised the MMC didn't do it for you based on the rave reviews. Be careful of all those hot spot flyers the hallow club movement will be producing for ya when you least expect it. :P

I may have had a full set if they were available when I was shopping in 2017 as well, butI do like the softer feel of the 770s and see the benefits of blending here (and why MMC/HMB type blends could be popular).

If you do find the 8-A a bit clicky, look for P770s for a song on the bay or other places or (blasphemy approaching) blend any short irons you care to hit though your OCD may not allow that from what I read above :D

Welcome to the club. I have been in the 2019 P790s since they came out, was fit into them along with a few other guys at my club. Great sticks.

I love the P790 4-7. Don’t like the 8-P. They're light and the feel sucks. Still perform OK. Thinking about blending with the 760 but not crazy about the looks.
