New Cleveland Driver... Simplicity?
After a few years of having the adjustable drivers that you tune into and never touch the weights again, I'm thinking about going back to the simplicity of a fixed driver like the new Cleveland. Get a preferred shaft in it for performance and size (44"), a little hot melt for weight and sound dampening and boom, done.
Anyone else? Go back to simple fixed driver?

Havent tried it with the driver yet... but I went back to fixed hosels in my fairways. the m6 fairways have been the best ive ever hit and I think eliminating the idea of having to move weights / adjust loft / open or close club face has been refreshing
like you mentioned I think its most important to get the right shaft in there so you dont have to worry about changing. With the adjustable drivers its always fun to plug in and play new shafts out of curiosity and never developing a good feel for the setup

Yes! Well...sort of.
I've never actually owned a non-glued hosel driver, so I can't really claim to have "gone back" to the technology.
That being said, I have one of the recent glued hosel Cleveland drivers and it is absolutely wonderful.
It's a great head and I think it would be interesting to conduct the kind of experiment that you are suggesting.

I still play a ping k15 on tight courses. its dead straight for me. gives up some yards no doubt, but its point and shoot.

You can buy a G400 for $200 bucks. How cheap do you want to be? This is golf.

For the **** of it I picked up a used Honma TW737 driver. It is the 445 head 10.5’ with the Vizard 70 shaft in stiff. I had never played any Honma club and haven’t had a fixed hosel position driver since the Nike Sumo from 06-07.
After two rounds testing the Honma I sold my M6 which I wasn’t thrilled with. Too much spin and I couldn’t find the right side of the course with it. It has now completely bumped my Rogue Sub Zero out of the bag. The Honma is straighter for me than either the Callaway or Taylor. On my best swings the Callaway was a touch longer but I will take the accuracy and not have in the back of my head that I need to get another shaft to fix what was wrong with the round I just played.
I am sure I will try something else next spring but for now I really like this new to me driver.

I'm on this same path and trying to decide between the Cleveland, z585, and the Wilson D7. I think any of these with a 70g shaft would work for me. Of course I say this as a CPO Epic Flash arrived at my office today.

I find the impact sound/feel is better with no adapter, and that is what Cleveland has offered with the Launcher HB and newer Turbo model drivers.
