TS3 guys - talk about it

Did this same thread for the M5 because the driver is really good. Since it's tinker season and the comparisons I had been reviewing on YouTube showed that ts3 was a player, I decided to get one and try it.

Well, it's more than a player...it may be the best driver of 2019 for me. Ballspeeds are better than m5...across the face.

The head is super heavy...it came with a +2 weight, I'm playing it in a rogue silver shaft with a mcc+4 grip at playing length 45" and it's still at D5!

Gonna put a -4 weight in it to get it to D2 so I can find the sweet spot consistently. I only tried it in A1 (this is my first titleist sure fit experience.

So, how's your set up and why?

I was fitted into 10.5* turned down to 9.75*, neutral weight, neutral setting, Black Smoke 60. I tried the 9* head turned up but the ball flight was better with what I ended up getting - I'm not sure exactly why, not a fitter and I didn't think to ask at the time. 9* stock just had too many hook misses so I think the extra spin is helping to stabilise the trajectory and I only lost 4 yards.

Besides being the best performer for me out of all the 2019 offerings (except Ping #neverturbulators) the main selling points for me were the lack of a busy crown, classic shape and the sound.

I like it, but I’ve hit nothing but fades with it. I can draw anything else, but not the ts3. It’s long, but it isn’t perfect. It has a shallower face. Which means you have to tee it lower than I like. It can feel/sound harsh on certain hits.

My m3 is getting bag time right now.

The whole TS line is outstanding. I gamed a TS3 for most of the year before switching to the TS4 when changing shafts for really no good reason other than I do kinda like the slightly smaller head. It was literally a matter of "Ah, I'll give this one a go while I'm at it."

To me, it's simply the best looking, feeling and sounding line there is. Like, it's not even close.

I actually recently tried the TM M6 line for my fairways recently and it was just no good. Returned them and went back to my TS2s; much to the amusement of my playing buddies. "Dude, what were you even thinking?!"

Mark me down as a fan!! I have had mine in the bag for a little over a year. To be fair I am Titleist through and through so that it has ended up in my bag is no real surprise but I I have been finding that I am been seeing an awful lot more Titleist headcovers out there than I had in years gone past. It was relatively rare to come across a 917 headcover but I am seeing a good amount of the TS headcovers out there that is for sure.

It is a very good driver, I played a TS3 / Evenflow White T1100 combo for much of the season. I ended up ditching it toward the end of the season for an M3 with Graphite Design Tour AD GP. I just hit the M3 combo a little straighter, and find it a bit more forgiving. I'm not giving up on the TS3, as I hit my longest drives of the season with it. It seems to be very shaft sensitive, as I went through my old trusty Kiyoshi White and the stock Hzrdus Smoke before landing on the Evenflow. I've got a Graphite Design Tour AD TP that I'm going to try with the TS3 to see if that hits the spot.

Switched to the TS3 from a two month stint with the M3. I was originally fit for the M3 coming from the 913 needing an upgrade. After a few rounds with the M3 I noticed I lost about 10 yards from the 913 but I was a fairway or two more accurate (5/6 year old tech being faster? no thanks). After seeing my real world results contradict what I saw in my fitting I went to the BST and picked up a TS3.

Once I found a shaft that worked the club came alive. Have hit some of my longest drives with this club and it is much better looking than anything else on the market IMO. My only initial complaint was that it sounded/felt kind of tingy and wasn't the feel I was looking for. I've heard this same complaint from other high speed players as well. I was able to get my hands on one with a few grams of hotmelt inside and It's perfect. Wish I just got fit for the TS3 in the first place. Would have saved me a lot of time and given me the full season to smash the thing

Been covered in snow for a few weeks here in Canada. Went out and played 12 this afternoon. Even with a rusty swing and near freezing temperatures the TS3 with evenflow was finding fairways and feeling great. Maybe not the longest in the world but a damn nice driver.

Its an absolute weapon. I dont think anything can match the efficiency and ball speeds of the TS3 this year.

Really sexy looking and a driver with minimal fuss.

Sounds a bit high pitched and it fades but other than that it is perfect. All my other clubs I hit a draw so I always seem to end right of target but im adjusting

Took me a while to get the right shaft though and im still not convinced.

Used the Evenflow T1100 for most of the season but it feels like a kettle - really not a fan of it

I was a TM user for a few years but really liked the look and setup of the TS3. After testing, I had similar numbers and switched due to the great look at setup. Something about it suits my eye and with similar numbers to other drivers, it was a no brainer. Back and forth between Rogue 125 and EFW. Finished the year with EFW after I realized my ‘smooth’ swing let the shaft do the work and as straight and long as any combo in years. First winter in a long time with no driver tinkering. Time to try new putters!

Paired mine with the Ventus Blue after so so results with the black smoke and it is a fairway finder for me. Other drivers I’ve tried have more forgiveness (TS2, Cobra, M5) but I consistently find more fairways with this set-up. Weight is set up for a Fade Bias and I can really go after it.

Like others said. Great ballspeed. Great looks. Most forgiving of the low spin offerings IMO.

I recently got a steal trade on a G410LST, but found it to be slightly shorter, and surprisingly the forgiveness wasn’t noticeably better either. The TS3 also had about 2mph better average ball speed on a calibrated skytrak.

the LST launched lower, but was admittedly lower loft (9* vs my 10.5 TS3 set to 9.75*), which made it less optimized and with less ballspeed. Traded that for the G410+ in 9*, just to see if giving up a few yards would be worth the increased forgiveness, and shockingly found the TS3 to be as easier to hit, with about 15 yards more due to significantly lower spin and 2-3mph better ball speeds.

maybe it’s because my miss is left, and the TS3 is a tad fade bias, but I can’t find anything to beat it in distance, and nothing has been significantly better in accuracy either.

FWIW, also tried the F9, which I didn’t hit nearly as well. It was so poor in comparison that it never stood a chance to my TS3.

im a total driver ho, but cannot seem to kick this out of the bag despite multiple efforts to do so.

I've gamed the TS3 for a while now. It was a significant and much needed step forward for Titleist.

My setup details are:

TS3 9.5 turned down to 8.75, D1, +8g weight in the heel, kk dc 70tx playing at 45" tipped 0.5"

My driving has always been my strong part of my game, but this setup has given me even more confidence, it just flat out works for me.

I've tried multiple shafts including PO 70TX, Rogue 125msi 70TX & a stock HZRDUS Smoke 60 6.5. I'm interested in the new Ventus Black but keep telling myself my current setup does everything I want.

Well, seems I've found the weakness of the ts3 and what makes me understand the comments from.guys about the club being shaft sensitive. Ts3 is nowhere near as good as m5 when you're striking it poorly...all around the sweet spot. Ts3 is a dog when struck low on the face. I got spin numbers around 3100 when struck low. M5 maxed around 2500 or 2600. Ts3 ballspeed fluctuates much more depending on strike consistency too.

I've had mine since right after they came out last year. Given that it's made it a year says enough given how many drivers I've owned. Last year I used a Rogue SZ and didn't plan on replacing it. But the TS3 came out and I figured I'd at least test it and to my surprise the numbers suggested it was as long and forgiving as the Rogue, but my dispersion was much better and frankly I just hit it right out of the middle virtually every time. Mine is basically stock. I got fit, but there wasn't a shaft that worked better for me than the Smoke. 9.5* set at 8.75* HZRDUS Smoke 6.0. I don't even know what weight is in there.

It's been years since I've had this much confidence in a driver for this long. I'm not the type of person to talk about massive distance gains. I get fit for drivers and from my point of view, if you are getting fit you should not be seeing massive distance gains going from one generation to the next. If so you weren't fit right previously. My longest drives are right in line with the SZ I had and both are slightly longer than the 2016 M2(rogue shaft) I had before that. But I really hit this driver straight. Actually it performs very much like the M2 did for me except the Titleist is 5 - 10 yards longer.

The only thing I'd say that was different when I got fit for it was that I was given the opportunity to hit numerous 9.5* heads and one in particular shined above the others. Even with the best brands it's amazing the differences from one head to another. I guess I never realized that and didn't realize what a difference it makes. I had a similar fitting with my Rogue SZ with the same person. Except that I wasn't able to try out multiple 9.0* heads in the SZ. But I just kept hitting what he handed me both times. The SZ ended up with a 75g shaft cut to 45" and sw at D3. I have no idea exactly how he got there and don't care. Same with the Titleist. 45" D3 sw.

Anyway I love mine and have no plans to hit any new clubs. I'm planning to keep it in 2020 and look at the next one Titleist launches and then I can test others also.

Have one coming this week with evenflow white and I’m very excited about it! Will need to take it to my fitter and get the swing weight sorted. Anyone know the head weight with neutral weight? Prefer head weight to be 200gr.
