it was a HUGE mess yesterday also they changed the back door ways of getting fields information on regionals, worlds. Some appear to be listed but some don't.

Oh no!! Our priority status ends on 11/30/2019!! Whatever are we going to do? Maybe this new fancy website is why tournament fees in the Bay Area have risen from $51 to $65 for 9-holes.

$65!!! And I though ours were bad here in TX at $51. A lot to be said about the PGA sections charging $25-$35.

I don't understand why groups changes things for the worse. I hate the new look of the web page and it isn't user friendly. I thought out of all the golf websites, US Kids actually had it right.

Dude, we pay $65 for 9 hole and $78 for 18.

as a software developer this site is a beta at best. Do this in the middle of December when most tours have shut down. Hell yesterday 1/2 it wasn't even pulling up.

That's for this weekend's event at Harding. I just checked and some 9 hole events are $46 but that's at Fullerton which is a dump. Looks like most are around $55.

I can't find any locals upcoming for south florida??? The website sucks I think they don't have anything this time of year but who knows with this website. So many issues.

We have a tournament this weekend, it's gonna create chaos if people can't see their tee times.

What was US Kids thinking? What was so wrong with the old website, that they went ahead and replaced it with this piece of garbage?

I noticed that you cant see what courses that the kids played when you pull up the past results. I wanted to check and see what course a certain age group played last year at worlds and all it shows it the scores.

I can see the local tour stuff but if you go look at past results for the regional tournaments or worlds, it doesn't tell you what course it was played on.

Yea U.S. Kids was tough for me to keep alive in Nashville. I finally had to quit running it. I was paying ice to Eskimos when I had to pay the golf courses. There's just to many people trying to get a cut and that's why their rates are starting to go up.

I asked them about why the rates in the Bay Area Local Tour went to $65/$75 for the 9-hole/18-hole events. The 9-hole is particularly ugly price. They told me the courses were the ones raising the rate. I don't know if that's true or not, but it sets off my B.S. detector. Note: detector has been faulty at times.

i think in general US kids peaked right after netflix released the shortgame. A lot people seen that documentary and thought US KIDS was everything to Junior Golf. But in reality there isn't demand in every small city to have a tournament with the few kids who do well at 1500 yard goat tracks.

My feeling is less kids means higher costs and why all the increases.

Local PGA sections are the best place to be running local events for younger kids and US kids would be far better off just doing larger regionals on nicer courses as this always will have some demand. This way the younger kids can play the same days with larger events with lots of kids of all ages and keep costs down low enough. To me this seems the most cost effective.

So the way it worked for me was that US Kids paid the course $10/$15 for 9&18 hole rounds and then I got paid $10/kid if we had 40-49 participants. $7/kid if under 39 participants. Then if we got to the 50s it was $11/kid and 60s $12/kid and so on.

I’ve heard lethargic they only pay $10 a kid but that’s why no one wants them on. Maybe that’s why courses charge $15 for balls and $30 for carts.

Yea believe me. $15 didn't cover the junior rate at most places I was calling. And I talked US Kids up from $8/$12 which they initially wanted me to sell. Granted Middle TN around Nashville is a unique market with what people make around here so those prices are silly cheap. That might work in the middle of nowhere but not in this town.

So what you are saying is about half the money stays with US kids? I am surprised that they can find any places to run tournaments. Even for muni courses where they are tax payer funded need more to cover their costs.

So the guy in LA averaging over 100 kids per event was making ok money but was smart to start his own tour where he could keep more of the funds for himself and his staff.

It Kind of sounds likes it hard to make any money. 100 kids $12 each is only say 1200 a week so factor in everything and you looking at probably around 40k a year max because you can't have a tournament every weekend. Even 30-35 tournaments a year would be a huge challenge . What makes this really bad is there is probably expenses on top of that. Only way this pays is if you teach kids and do it so they can play tournaments.

Most of these tours are making far far less a week and are lucky to get 30-40 kids. Based on these numbers it doesn't sound like US Kids is really that sustainable to me. Regional tours are a different matter.

His take home is actually less because he staffs it properly with a starter, scorers, roaming rules officials, etc. I know he also teaches quite a few kids on the tour.

Why would US Kids get any of the money? They aren't doing anything except attaching their name to it. Doesn't sound like a good business model at all. Well, for them it is, but not the ones running it. US Kids Tournament Pricing in general is the most expensive in the country.
