Tell me about this set of Miuras

I stumbled across this set of Miuras at a local golf shop for $850. Faces are in great shape.

From what I can gather they are the 1957 baby blades but I know nothing about Miura irons other than their reputation, how beautiful this set is, and how the nine iron felt the one time I hit it.

Can anyone verify that they are the 1957 baby blades? Is this a good price for them? Why would anyone put those shafts in them? And why is the four iron slightly different?

4 iron is a tournament blade. So 5-pw are baby blades. They’re real but overpriced.

what shafts are in them?

Why would they go with a tournament blade in the four? Easier to hit?

Not 100% sure on the shafts. They are an ugly regular flex shaft with a jumbo grip. It just felt wrong holding them with that setup.

What would be a fair price IYO?

$600 maybe? The tournament blade is arguably less forgiving than the BB so kind of a dumb combo imo

Seriously $600? Where are you seeing lightly used Baby Blades for $600? Isn’t that a $2500-$3000 a set brand new, if you can get your hands on them?

id reshaft into a modern shaft too.

I’m with him on the $600...$750 tops. I’ve owned several sets of these 3-pw. This set should be looked at as “ just heads “ unless those shafts happen to fit you. Each set I had I struggled to get $850-900for the heads. So a 5-pw set at $600-$700 makes sense. The 4 iron here wouldn’t add value to this set. Maybe get $80 for it separately. Not having the 3 and 4 iron for this set is a big deal . Would. Cost $400 to add those 2 new.

Much appreciated guys. I needed a reason not to buy them. Unfortunately, they have sent me down a Miura researching wormhole that will probably have me buying a set at some point.

It seems the patient shopper can find good deals on used blades. Yes new they are very expensive but the market for these guys is relatively small (a lot of us hang here ? :)

Sure seen plenty of $1500 asking prices for barely used sets but also plenty of sub $1000 for sales out there if you are patient. MB001's for $800 for the past few weeks for example

If those are pretty clean, 6-800 seems like a solid price, easy to reshaft with your choice of steel (plenty of pulls to choose form : D

They are fantastic irons with a feel unlike anything else. You've got to at least try a set.
