Change my blade to a mid mallet

Hi

Was hoping to get ideas on if I should get a mid mallet or mallet. Currently have a TaylorMade OS Daytona but I feel I need more forgiveness.

Options I liked were the Cleveland frontline elevado or the Scotty Cameron square back 1.5

Let me know you suggestions.

Mid-Mallet and a full mallet will both be more forgiving than a blade. It will honestly just come down to what you like looking at and what feels comfortable to you and to do that you'll have to try some out at your local shop.

But between those two you'll probably get a better bang for your buck with the Cleveland but you may hate it and love the Scotty or something else not even on your list.

Not necessarily true. The OS Daytona has pretty decent MOI, some mid-mallets like 2-ball will actually be less forgiving.

If you like the TM Insert, try the Spider X slant neck or Ardmore 2 plumbers neck.

I'm looking for something that gives me consistency on off centred shots as that's is my issue.

I tried the Ping Ketsch and more recently a SC Phantom X8 that looks like a version of the Ketsch, both it were awesome but my eyes didn’t get used to the big footprint of a mallet, so I’m still using blades and occasionally the mid mallets SC Sonoma I & II

I owned the Squareback 1.5 for a bit this season. I was very impressed with the stability and forgiveness. Shape was great as well as the feel. Just wanted to give the Las Vegas a shot this year but I could have easily kept the Squareback and played it.

I'm in the process of changing from a Cleveland SOFT #1 blade to a Ping Sigma 2 Arna. And by in process I mean I picked up the Arna today and there's 6" of snow on the ground. I used the Cleveland all this past season and putted rather well - pace, start line and feels were best I've ever had. I have tried larger mallets (Spider & Stroke Lab 10) a few times but their size and shape didn't quite fit my eye regardless of how well the #10 seemed to work. A few weeks ago I went to a local Club Champion for an impromptu putter fitting thinking the headweight/balance/whatever was contributing to some shaky takeaways. Everything I was told from the fitter to the computer output was that the Cleveland wasn't necessarily hurting me because I had a vary repeatable stroke, strike location and path (straight inside-out, with the club head rotating as it should), 34" length was near perfect for me, etc. My miss though during the fitting, that I've found sometimes on the greens, was a miss just outside left which corresponded to my path. The Cleveland is probably a 5 o'clock toe hang, and found the Arna with a toe hang about 4 o'clock made quite a positive difference. Apologies for being a little long winded but wanted to share what I've recently found.

....only thing I need to get used to is the harder feel going from a milled face to an insert.
