$-Tapers in wedges?

I play $-Tapers in my irons and would like to get thoughts regarding their effectiveness/performance in wedges (50*-*60*)?

Would also be curious to hear thoughts concerning other KBS options in wedges-- specifically their 610 and their Wedge shafts.

I did it. They were fine. Launched a bit higher than I wanted in 130x. Much prefer TI S400.

I put $ Tapers in my 53 S grind and 58 D grind SM7s. I mainly use my 53 for full shots and shorter chips from clean lies around the green and i really like it. However i wish i went with a more wedge focus shaft from KBS in my 58.

Are you thinking the KBS Wedge shaft or the KBS 610 shaft in your 58*? Or possibly another more wedge-focused shaft I haven't listed?

What advantage(s) would you anticipate with this kind of shaft vs. the $-Taper in those higher lofted wedges?

My theory would be a little more spin from slower swing speeds and a little more active tip.

I would suggest looking into the Nippon Modus Wedge shaft. It has been the best performer during all of my testing. Tight dispersion, great feel, great backspin control. The KBS 610 is very good, but much lower spinning that the stock KBS Wedge.

Concerning the KBS lineup, you note the 610 is much lower spinning than the stock KBS Wedge shaft. I've been led to believe the stock KBS Wedge shaft is lower spinning than the KBS Tour 120 shaft?

I believe from a spin perspective it is 610 < KBS Wedge < KBS Tour 120? Is this correct? Where would the $-Taper be positioned in this lineup in terms of its spin qualities?

Interested in this as well, I currently have:

$-Taper 120s to put in my irons

uncut KBS 610 Stiff (124g)

Modus 115Wedge (122g)

I mostly play half to full shots with my SW, and use my LW for finesse shots. So, I want to be able to keep my trajectory low on the SW so I don’t have to worry about ballooning and distance/roll out consistency issues.

Not sure if I should go 610 or $-Taper in the SW. pretty sure I’ll be going Modus in the LW
