Michelle Wie to Join Masters Broadcast team

Looks like Michelle Wie is going to be a broadcaster now. Joining the CBS team with Immelman and will be included at the Masters.

I think it is a decent move.

Could be a good move, I hope her stint at Stanford got the “like, uh, totally” out of her.

She has a great voice and brings some youth to a very tired CBS team.

Hahaha. That was my one thought. There may be too much valley girl come through while broadcasting. I know she worked on the soleheim cup. I didnt watch but, that may provide some insight there.

is she replacing an aging Dottie Pepper, even though MW has the personality of a piece of cardboard, she will add NOTHING to the broadcast, except diversity

Was just gonna post, "get ready for, ya know."

Yet another example of agents, back room deals & the buddy system. No sane broadcaster would choose Wie over actual broadcasting talent. Another example of why golf is so difficult to watch.

Having some "yoots" incorporated into the mix is a good move. I just hope they work with her on her "like um okay's" "totally" type of speak because I have found her to be a pretty annoying interview in the past. Maybe she has grown up, and is working with a voice coach.

I am pretty skeptical she will be a good fit, but who knows? I hope I am wrong and she does well.

I guess this shows the end of her playing career is close.

I think Immelman will do a good job, but not a great one, he is non offensive, I just don't see him moving the needle.

In the end, some changes needed to be made, only time will tell if they are the right changes. Personally I would like to see more of Double D.

Some of you guys are being total D's. Michelle is going to be great. She's going to bring excitement and energy to the broadcast, which I think is fantastic. Not even mentioning the fact that she was a world class player for the better part of a decade.

Honestly, I hope she doesn't commentate like everybody else does it. She's fun and should bring her own flair instead of acting like an old white man.

I was watching the Euro tour race championship. One thing I liked is that they were interviewing players on the course in the final round. Including Rahm who was in the lead. I would love for more of that on the PGA tour.

I say this is a good move, an actual modern golfer with close ties to many top players, lots of social media presence. From the little bit of Solheim Cup I did watch, she seemed extremely well spoken and very comfortable in the role.

This is a stupid move. Golf needs announcers who are at least capable of STFU on occasion. Hiring more untrained mouthfuls is the opposite of that.

I honestly think that is a a very good thing, not only for ratings but for the game of golf as a whole. Being able to see the so called human side of professional golfers makes the sport more likable as a whole
