Members.... A general update regarding the forum software in both form and function.

I have been receiving a lot of messages from members that are asking what's up and when will more changes happen. In the website help forum I have read comments from members young, old, heavy posters and light that are both supportive and patient. I have also read comments and have exchanges PM's with many that are upset in the experience now vs the old software back last winter. Reading the disappointment has been very difficult yet warranted.

This place is more than a passion of ours. For over 14 years it has been part of our lives for owners and staffers. As a member you share a similar experience here. Some of you have spent years on WRX developing relationships, history, likes, feedback scores and have reputations that you hold dear to you. To see this platform take such a hit can be very disappointing for both you and us. After a stormy year we are starting to see some light. While some of you will disagree with that, we can see it at GolfWRX Headquarters in Detroit. We clearly fumbled the software change early 2019 but you have to understand we urgently had to move or die. The old software was overloaded and crashing. It simply could not handle the traffic and we unfortunately had to pull the trigger even though we obviously were not ready.

We have been working tirelessly to make upgrades to this raw platform so it is up to our standards. We have made a few first steps but have many to go. This platform, while it might not look like it yet, has the foundation to build a monster on it. Unlimited growth potential built on modern programming for speed and scalability.

What makes us optimistic is the amount of changes we have in the system and our knowledge of the schedule for the releases to you. We have countless styling and functional changes in queue.... Some launched, some ready to launch, some in beta testing, some in development, some ready to go into development and a list of enhancements and updates to work on next.

Just a few of the top modifications closer to launch are...

Data additions and re-layout of the comment avatar block (user info shown with each post)Search result and Private Message (PM) pages getting re-styled and cleaned upMaking the titles of unread Discussions(Topics) bold again!Link behavior standardized to red with no underline when you hover over a link.

There are 50 mods (search enhancements in BST, looking at the ads to be in post, ClubWRX ad removal, general formatting fixes for dates and misc through out the site, etc) that are coming right after those I could say but would rather not in case they are late. The feedback system for the BST is still unfortunately a few months out. Yes a few freakin months out! We talk about the Feedback to often, pushing the developers to work OT and pushing for expedited cost and timing to force their hand. It is being developed now and hope to see it soon.

So much more to come and updates are going to be rolled out as soon as we pass them through our planning process. The drops can happen weekly and will occur often for the next 6 months. Some will be obvious and others will be minimal but the list is long.

What I really wanted to say and to communicate is that we are working to bring the WRX forums back, and back with a vengeance. We have the vision, resources and the long term commitment to get it done and while it might take time we will get it done and we will make this place better than it ever was or could have been on the old antiquated software.

I wish we could have rolled this out better, I really do. All we can do now is prove to you through steady progress and better transparency. We are committed win back the loyalty of those that left, those that are here and pissed, those that feel we let them down and for those that are here and ok... we want to make them excited and surprised in the waves of changes coming going forward.

We understand the standard you want and expect. We are committed to making that happen sooner than later. It will materialize. What you see today is just the beginning. I promise to evolve daily to bring you the best platform. Thank you for your continued support in these early days of our new beginning WRX 2.0.
