I have a sleeve but there’s too much snow. Anyone else tried it yet ?
This ball has been out for some time. Lots and lots of reviews on it.
Quigs, not the EXP 01; this is a "test" ball for the AVX replacement......
@jwb10 there is too much snow where I am if I had them to try. Where did you get them?
Send them down to me.. : ) . No snow here...
PS - Get them to me by tomorrow 9am,, my tee time is 9:10
pro, Titleist order for next year
Please let it be a firmer and higher compression version of AVX! 🙏🏻
It’s supposed to be
If it is firmer and higher compression then wouldn't it be a ProV1X?
No, V1x is high launch, high spin ball.
(Relative high spin ball that is - for being Urethane premium ball)
Dimple design for V1x promotes high launch and dimple design for AVX promotes low launch with relative low spin.
The dimples on the test ball look the same as AVX. But it feels a little firmer( but still softer than either ProV ) and is supposed to fly higher.
As a very high spin player I loved everything about AVX with irons, wedges and putter. But it was horrible with driver since it was too soft. I carried 2019 Pro V1 and V1x about 10-15 yards further than AVX, but with the irons (especially 2/3/4 iron) it was the opposite and I was one full club longer with AVX.
So the dream is an AVX with same characteristics as the old, but firmer so you can drive it. And according to my Titleist rep that was the most common feedback on tour as well (why no pro used it) and not the fact that green side spin is a little bit less.
I agree with the above. I’m a high launch high spin player and played the AVX and it really did bring my trajectory down to what I like to see but it was way short with the driver. My fitter told me that I compress the AVX too much with the longer clubs.
Somebody else has to have these 'test' balls and have hit them. I am never on the cutting edge of anything !
How do I get in line for test balls? Haha!

Played the AVX all last year. Decided to switch to ProV1 but could be convinced to come back to it if the new one is improved. Curious to hear about the results....
I can only tell you about putting and wedge- bouncing. It is softer than a prov1 but not as soft as Chrome Soft. It putts great, and the intel. is that it is slightly harder than1st model and the dimples and core were designed to fly higher. I won't know till I can leave the snow, but I'm sure someone in the south and west has some.
Is it only one person in the entire world that have got one test sleeve of new potential AVX?
I was thinking the same thing this morning as I looked at an unmarked box, the shallow AVX dimples and the "test" on the side. I'd go out and test them except its 22 and the fairways are whiter than the test pellets. I even posted on Team Titleist, trying to see if any of those guys knew anything, and the crickets are just as loud !! I always wanted to be the 1st guy here to get something like this test ball, but now it's lonely....
The low launch was what attracted me to the AVX in the first place - I'm disappointed to hear that the new version will be higher launching. I guess the silver lining is being able to buy the old model at a discount now.
This discussion really has me confused. clp34vmp wants a higher launching AVX. mbbrewer wants a higher compression AVX. MrShield says tour pros are OK with the spin of the current AVX. So instead of a new higher launching, higher compression, good green side spin AVX, why don’t we just stick with the Pro V1?
Because Pro V1 spins like crazy on 2-8 irons.
As an example, with my T100 I spin a 7-iron 8200 rpm with Pro V1. Way too much and out of control. AVX spin 7200 - still a little bit too much, but very playable. AVX “cures” my iron play like magic. My 2-iron is at least 15 yards longer with AVX. But since I can’t drive it I can’t play it. So therefore I hope for just a harder AVX with the same dimple design that promote both low launch and low spin.
Yeah, I understand what you’re hoping for. But I don’t know if a harder AVX with low launch and low spin is possible. The other posters indicate the new ball misses on low launch and possibly low spin. Every ball is a compromise in some way.
How do you get from previous comment that I wanted a higher launching AVX? My first sentence was, "The low launch was what attracted me to the AVX in the first place." That has me confused.
May have mixed you up with another poster. Don’t stress over it.
Bueller ? Bueller ?🤔
I hit the AVX a little farther with my irons and the same as pro v1 with the driver.....Maybe even a little farther.....
Just joined today and already looking for more yards off the tee...…..🙂
