Old eBay “Buying Classic Ping Irons” guide

There used to be a very descriptive, multi-part guide called something like “Buying Classic Ping Irons” on eBay circa 2010. (Not for sale; more like a blog post.) Does anyone know who authored it, have it saved or know where I can find it again?

Searches have been unsuccessful so far but it’s possible I have the title wrong. Much appreciated!

I know there are some Ping Putter collector experts over in the Putters Forum here. They know all the styles and zip codes. Maybe some of them can guide you on the info you seek

Appreciate the reply! I think that is excellent advice, but I’m hesitant to post the question there because it’s specific to irons. Think the mods would allow?

I remember that eBay Ping buyers guide. Had it saved in my favorites. The link is dead. Do not know who authored it. But there was a lot of useful information. It was a user on eBay called PingMan (or something like that) and he wrote that guide in 3 parts. I loved reading them and wished I had saved the text somehow because it's gone now. It was stored in an EBay section called buying guides or reviews IIRC.

I think you’re probably looking for “Pongman.” Check out his web site at pongman.com. Among all the different collectible putters and irons, he offers the ping identification guide on the web site. He’s got quite a collection of Ping goodies.

Remember that Classic Ping Irons buying guide.  Have reason to believe the original authorship was by a gentleman named Mark Conner.  He posted additional information in the OSP FB group awhile back. Full credit to him, all I did was was C & P.  Also information on OSP putters, in a Q & A format, he authored.  Worthwhile to have in the reference archives in case one has a Ping thing.

These guides are directionally correct.  Most common error is the ping 1-A which he lists in the guide as an A-1 ….that’s steak sauce not a putter.  Things like “I’ve only seen x# on eBay since xxx like the solheim memorial putter etc….”  That doesn’t mean there weren’t more.  I’ve seen more than 2 for sale on eBay……Values are very subjective.  Not all becu putters are stamped becu.  Some are….but not all.  
Overall some good info.   I was one of the admins of the Facebook old school ping group for a couple of years.  Had enough of the “what is this worth?” Every second post.
