Graphite Design Shaft

I have a Graphite Design Tour AD DI in a Callaway Flash driver and I like the shot dispersion and trajectory but it is a little bit firmer feeling than what I’d prefer. What GD shaft would give me the dispersion & trajectory similar to this shaft but with a softer feeling? Would I need a softer but section or tip section to get a softer feeling?

Feel is a personal thing. Some people equate feel with what they feel in their hands. Some equate feel with how a shaft actually kicks -- most would tell you the DI has some "kick" in the shaft, compared to the TP or BB which most would tell you doesn't feel like it "kicks." Others equate feel to other things, and you can change feel through flex and/or weight as well. Go down a flex and it won't feel as firm.....and not everyone experiences more dispersion when they go down. I didn't like the feeling of the 85 gram AD DI hybrid, so I went down from XS to Stiff and got the feel I wanted without any significant change in launch or spin.

The IZ and VR were both made to be one notch softer in the tip than the DI, but with similar playing characteristics. For me, the IZ doesn't feel that softer than the DI but the VR does. Performance characteristics on Trackman for all 3 are very similar in terms of launch and spin, at least for my swing. Hope that helps. If it doesn't, go to Youtube and search for Devoted Golfer. Agree with this... I find the IZ to feel the stoutest of the DI profile. VR feels loose to me, and the DI felt the loosest. All results were very similar, with good dispersion. I kinda felt like I had to go at the IZ the most.

I have the AD-F (fairway wood shaft) in my 3W and love it. It has I believe a firm butt, medium in the mid section, and a soft tip section. Nice high flight and mid spin. I am looking to get something similar in my driver, also a Flash, to get the same feel. I know in terms of stiffness, the firm designation is just above medium in the GD continuum. I am leaning toward the AD DJ.

I am going to the SR flex with a driver swing speed in the mid 90s. I also want to feel the load and release. The AD DJ is Stiff butt, medium mid section and soft tip section. High flight and mid spin.
