TM Red LDP vs Pro V1x and Cally ix

What can I expect from the TM Red?

I was looking for a little more distance so I swithced a while back from the Pro V1 to the V1x....mission accomplished, I got the extra distance, however, I wasn't getting enough spin on the greens. I then went to the Cally ix and got a little more distance but they spun way too much on the greens....I loved it on chips as I could throw the ball right at the hole and it would stop right away but on full shots I was backing them up way too much. So this weekend I am moving on to the TM Red LDP. What can I expect as far as distance and spin compared to the V1x and ix? Thanks.

I find it longer than the V1x but it does not check as hard on pitch shots around the green. It runs out. I like all the characteristics of the Red for my game and have made it my gamer.

I play the PV1x.. and spin the #@$#@ out of it.. my friend gave me a TP Red LDP to use, because of how frustrated i was getting by hitting the ball at the hole and having it spin off the green.. the LDP goes a little longer.. feels a little heavier off the driver and irons, putting isnt as nice as the PV1x and chipping doesnt check nearly as much. You'll like the ball, I did.. I still have a bunch of PV1x's that i need to use before switching to it.

I found the performance of the TP Red and Cally ix to be very similar with the feel being completely different. To me the Taylor feels very smooth and silky off every club where the Cally has a feel that I describe as sticky/clicky.

I like both quite a bit but neither ball spun anywhere near as much around the greens as the latest V1x.

.........i cant believe you guys are complaing about balls spinning off the green.... there are more ways to hit a 100 yard shot... high, low, draw, fade..

you can create alot of spin with any ball, its just easier ( i think) with softer balls. But it mostly depends on your swing.

But i like the pro v1 for its softness and putting feel :swoon2:

you'd be complaining too!!! im talking about hitting normal shots that are spinning back off the green that land near the pin.. i do generate a lot of spin, so that's why i switched to the TM TPR.. the spin around the green is much better on chips with the V1x, but overall the TPR is working better for me..

i played with the PV1X this weekend and skuffed them a lot. are the ix and tp red more durable? i want to try this tp red

in my experiences all tour caliber balls have the same durability. they all scuff on full wedge shots and show virtually the same amount of "damage" after a full round.

Nike, BS and Srixon balls don't have the off-white layer that shows through a scuff like Titleist, TM and Callaway but the "damage" is the same.
