The upshot of achieving that aim was the creation of distinct tiers.At the third hole, Johnson, who has won twice at Kapalua, in 2013 and 2018, was used to hitting wedge into the green. A tee 40 yards farther back establishes a landing area that is slightly uphill. As a result, Johnson needed a 6-iron to reach the putting surface, and that was in the face of a mere half-club wind. Thirty yards added to the short, uphill par-4 10th should yield a similar effect.

Quite scary to hear the club spent $12.5m on a renovation. My club turns over less than £1m a year with over 700 members. I hope it offers a sterner test than in past years.

it's not a club ... a resort ... i imagine they can cover that $12 million quite easily ... by all accounts, it will be tougher ... we'll see ...

True but its rounds like that that highlight how good the top players are. Most people hitting it like that end up shooting a million and he still found a way to get it in under par despite - from the looks of it - being in jail virtually all day.

You don't say? There's some guys in that field that would have struggled to break 80 where DJ was hitting it. His ability to just slough off bad holes is amazing. That "whatever" attitude he seems to have on the course serves him well in those times.

I always enjoy this event. The course is fun, the event is fun. Rickies out fit.. A bit of a miss in my book. haha.
