"Athletic fit" golf pants with the narrowest foot opening?

I'm trying to resist buying golf joggers but I kind of have weird legs. Relative to my waist, my quads/glutes etc are pretty thiicc, so the "slim fit" pants are usually a no go for me. I'm currently in Adidas Ultimate Classic pants and I really like the fit in my upper leg and seat but I still find them a bit too wide around the ankle area. I'd like something much more tapered in the low leg while still being comfortable up top.

Anybody have experience with the Adidas 3 Stripe Tapered fit or others? Will I have to move up a size? That's usually not ideal because it means I'm swimming in the pants at the waist just so my legs fit properly.

Bonobos “Athletic Fit” have a nice taper from knee to ankle. Fit my hockey legs pretty perfect

I've heard good things about them. Do they stretch? Or are they all cotton?

I like Under Armour tapered fit pants, they might fit your criteria for the narrow ankle opening, the UA straight fit are far too wide at the bottom for my liking. The tapered fit isn't what I'd consider "slim fit" and they stretch reasonably well, might be worth trying a pair on if you can find them at a local store. The Showdown pants are the thinner more breathable material (nylon/poly), and Showdown Chinos are a cotton/poly blend with elastane for a bit of stretch, basically what you'd expect from a typical chino pant material.

Yeah I have a pair of regular AU pants and they are the widest pant opening of them all lol. Maybe Amazon prime will have some I can try on.

I have the nike flex slim and nike flex 5 pocket pants, similar cut to the bonobos but way more stretch

Yeah I just went on the bonobos website and it looks like the really expensive pair is the one with a little bit of elastane in it. May not be the best right off the bat...The only thing I know about lulu is that Adam Scott wear them and that most lulu stuff is $$$$. I was looking at getting joggers to lift weights in and they were like $130.

I went to tj max and got some random brand stuff for $30 each, prob 80% as good. I'm willing to spend maybe... $80 on a pair right now. I'll check it out though in a few minutes, thank you.

Hope you get what you want! They are expensive, but I've had mine for several years, durability is A+, no fading, and still as comfortable as day 1, so for me a lot cheaper than replacing a cheaper pair frequently. I'm sure you'll find something that works for you.

Yeah I've had my AU pair for about a year, a Puma pair for about 9 months, and then 3 of the Adidas classics and the AU pair is already toast. Faded, stitching coming apart, etc. Problem is I wear the crap out of the pants as they also double as office attire since my dress code is just basically don't look like a bum (chino style pants, button up or polo).

I just ordered on prime wardrobe some of the Adidas tapered, but I may see about this lulu free return policy that I'm looking at. The ABC pant slim, as long as it stretches enough and won't shrink may work. I've learned the hard way that slim fit + cotton + time = RIP my legs and crotch.

Like the other poster said, not too much stretch but they’re also not cotton. Really light and airy, very comfortable when it’s hot hot out.

The Nike’s are good but they don’t have nearly as much room in the seat/thigh

Under Armour Showdown Tapered are the best I can find. I also wear them to work.

Get your current pants tailored. Probably would not cost more than $15/ pair to have the lower legs tapered.

Find the pants you like the most then find a good tailor. I have never been able to find the perfect pair but my favorite are the Peter Millar eb66 after alterations

Linksoul chino boardwalker pant might meet your reqs. Had to have them tailored as well but narrow at the leg. I've worn them around the office as well.

Jeggings. If they don't fit just right in the lower leg, cut them off and you have some nice jorts.

You and me both on the quad/calf problem brother. I'm a 30" inseam and a 31/32" waist depending on brand of pant.

I like the Adidas jogger golf pants but tried on a 32 and it looked like someone Saran wrapped them on. I need to try the 34 but I have a feeling the waist is going to be huge.

I've been wearing Lululemon ABC pants and they're perfect for me. Stretchy material so they move with me and they stretch around my thighs very well. A bit expensive but I wear them for church/court/nice dinners as well so they work double duty.

Would you say they are pretty durable? I'd love to get double duty out of them (work + golf).

Yeah, I would say so.

I wear a ton of Lululemon stuff (shirts, boxers, pants, sweats, joggers, pullovers) regularly and they have all stood up.

The cool thing is that they offer free hemming on their pants and shirts (if you need one shortened or the sleeves taken in) as well as free repair on certain things I believe.

I would recommend trying them on in a Lululemon store for your first pair, rather than buying online.

You could also find a tailor in your area and any good tailor should be able to taper the leg opening of the Adidas pants you currently wear to fit whatever you want it to be. I have to do this with my jeans (Joes and AG) and my duty pants a lot because the slim fits are painted on and the regular fit are tight in the thighs but super baggy at the bottom. Just a suggestion.

Yeah, I understand that issue. The Lululemon ABC pants are worth a look for you I think. Sounds like we have the same issue and that's how I solved it.

I second a previous recommendation to just get your pants tailored. I have the same issue as you, and have almost every pair of pants I buy tailored. I found a great local tailor that only charges $10 per pair of pants to have the leg narrowed to my liking.

Got the same "issue". For me the Nike Flex Novelty fits perfectly.

Yeah I may end up doing this for the short term at least on the underarmour pants I've got already. Still, I am curious about the fit of these "tapered" fit golf pants I just got off Amazon. I'm also ideally looking for "summer" pants because I play in a lot of fescue and so I usually end up wearing long legged clothing since I uhhh.... tend to find myself in the sh!t a lot. Ticks and whatnot can be an issue. Have found them on my legs before.

Anyway, I appreciate all your input guys! Maybe I'll post some pics of the fit of these Adidas tapered fit I got just for archive sake in case people are Googling this in the future or using search function.

I really like lululemon abc skinny fit. I know that sounds odd, but you should try a pair on. They are expensive though.

Everybody that I meet or hear from who owns lululemon pants has nothing but great things to say. I think though, it's a little out of my price range even if I get double duty use (golf and work). They'd need to be extraordinary for me to justify the $128 price tag. If they are are durable and solid as you say though, maybe I can find a lightly used pair on eBay or something.

Lots of folks recommend Old Navy pants as a Lululemon alternative.
