I don't know about the rest of you, but I love this place. I hope to keep enjoying the conversation here. Recently though, it is feeling like a needs a bit of an energy up tick. I don't know if anyone remembers some of the old Pepsi vs Coke commercials. Where Coke drinkers were playing bingo and the Pepsi drinkers were having a wild toga party? Remember those? I do. Anyway I am feeling very coke around here lately...

Someone needs to turn the lights on and bring in the jumper cables or something. ..

Maybe i haven't been on as much lately but i do feel like there hasn't been many epic threads lately.

By epic i mean either

-guy going down with the ship on something (recently all it seems like is trolls who know exactly what they are doing and baiting people intentionally)

-Good natured threads where everyone is having fun on something without mocking the OP too much. Like when the guy asked about tour issue tees a while ago.

I feel like there's more animosity than previous years (I'm still a newbie) but have been reading since 2015ish.

Exciting threads get shut down very quickly.

There's no new real relative golf content right now.

It’s always slow this time of year so I think it’ll pick up. That said, the new format rollout has been a disaster. The forums load about 25% of the time on my phone so I don’t even check if I don’t have my iPad. It’s a bummer. I feel bad for the site owners as I think they had a well run site and the new forums was rolled out with good intentions.

I agree, its a slow time of year, but this has been happening for a while.

Your post reminded me of a thread a number of years ago. The OP posted pictures of some golf tees he bought online and wanted to know if they were real or counterfeit. :-)

Yep, like most people I hate and fear change. And the rollout was a painful one though I can empathize with their need to make a change. But it's hard to get that momentum back once it's gone.

Jeff, go to the rules forum and read the “One Rule You’d Like to Change” thread. LICC is doing just that. He’s on a sinking ship but keeps persisting. It’s about as good as anything lately.

He was the Michael Jordan of trolling this forum. I love this place and the mods do a great job but banning that guy robbed the world of unfathomable joy. His candle burnt out long before his legend ever will

Tempers flare too quick, Square Strike, I met a lad from Ireland tonight as we were waxing about how awesome it would be to live there, he left to the US for a better life, I walked my last two rounds, I do not mind McCord or Azinger, and I usually suck at making successful thread topics..

Too hard to turn up the intensity in any conversation without someone taking it to heart and being offended. Some of the best conversations are had on a golf course but on a open forum like we have, interpretation often leads to hurt feelings and bad comments. If we only knew each other enough to talk openly then we can have some energized topics.

Too many good threads that start to have potential, get shut down. Usually because someone can’t stand the heat after starting the fire. Somewhere, somehow, someone has to get a good dumpster fire going. Maybe one of the Mods can go all John Tortorella on a topic of their choice?

And now both Coke and Pepsi are dying.

The threads about P Reed and his caddie were pretty good, but, until this week, there hasn't been any golf to talk about. The PGA show is coming up in Jan., and there will be a lot new gear to be discussed. Things will be picking up soon.

Meh, it's good here. Ever log into hackers paradise, MG$ or TST? They are absolute clusters and on one of them... the owner/ceo of the website gets pretty heavily involved in threads which I found very odd. Seemed like he had an agenda or something... IDK they all kind of rub me the wrong way at times.... whereas here, I think it's much more "open" and inviting in general. I don't go on the other sites often, but I have accounts on all of them. The level of knowledge here compared to the others is no comparison.

I agree, I love this site and all the knowledge that comes with it, I had a long standing account but asked for deletion awhile back when I stepped away from golf for a year or so, then I came back as a new user. Topics used to be awesome and fun to follow and some still are, but most of them seem to be lefties complaining, people complaining about small small visual details on clubs lol, or Completely new golfers who want to play blueprints. All that aside, I think in the spring this place will pick up the pace, but not anywhere near as fun as it was a couple years back.

it is what you make it. Lefties should learn to swing correctly. Pga guys are over rated, courses they play are just easy. Shafts do literally nothing. Super speed training is only good for injuring your back. Strength training is worthless. Everyone should be using sgi irons. The F9 sucked and the only reason people bought it was because Rich Shiels said to. Mark Crossfield is by far the best swing coach on the planet. Matthew Wolffe only swings that way because he did not get enough attention when he was younger. Flipping makes the ball go farther. Patrick Reed will be Time magazines 2020 person of the year. CPG is Bryson D. Nobody can tell the difference between cast and forged. Tiger Woods is, was and always will be the goat.

I just bought a new 125 gram txxxxx stiff shaft triple tipped driver shaft but I keep overpowering it and I am pulling it left. Getting a good 375 yards out of the combo though.

Are you claming tour issue tees will not improve my game?

I haven't been here much over the last few years as I've been busy with work but I feel I have nothing left to say about golf. I'm letting my clubs do the talking but their talk is like their shots - very random and unpredictable.

It's mid-Summer here in Australia but I would imagine many of the forumers on the flip side of the planet are hibernating. Give it a few months and new inventories from club manufacturers and the place will be buzzing again.
