Ok to wear skycaddie on your belt when you play?

The manual says do not do any abrupt movements with the unit so I was wondering if wearing it on your belt when you swing would qualify as abrupt movements, esp with my swing (lol). I walk the course and don't see any alternative locations for the GSP as my keeping it in my pocket might block out the signal.

Funny you say that, yesterday we had a couple 4 somes out playing and one of the guys had the range finder on his belt.. it was like he was walking around with a bag phone attached to his belt buckle! Personally, I hate having anything attached to me when golfing (like that).. one of theother guys we play with had his GPS on this belt as well, and he had no issues.. ie: he said, unless you plan on tackling me, there shouldn't be an issue...

I clip it to the pocket on my bag when I walk.

I've had it in my pocket a few times and it did not lose the signal.

If I am playing by myself, I clip it to the bag. but if I am playing in a scramble and etc. I wear it on my side. BTW I have a Golf Logix.

I clip it to my belt on the small of my back. It's out of the way and I don't think about it.

I Keep mine in my pocket and have never lost a signal.

Nope. The clip works pretty well. Just try it out...you'll be able to tell if it's secure.

I've got the skycaddie and use the belt clip attachment to fasten it on my belt on left side and slightly back. Never ever had any problem with this. Can detach with a simple button push, look at the reading, and put back in place, in just a few seconds.

After a couple of years, my SG2 started falling out of the clip after the plastic knob on the SG2 got worn from use.

I clip mines to my belt as well with no problems. It's just easier to detach and put back in place.

I always keep it clipped to my bag and it seems secure.

But the clip did break once. I left it attached to a loose object (the umbrella holder from my cart) in the trunk. When I went to play, the clip wouldn't grip the GPS. Foolishly, I tried to play without having it secured to anything. I ended up losing it on the course.

With a secure clip, I continue to use it clipped to a strap on the bag. But I don't leave it in the trunk any more.

I do and have never had a problem.

Just a heads up - you guys be careful. I leave mine in the cart bu tI have heard horror stories about people stealing them. So if you DO keep it in the cart, do NOT leave it there unattended!

As for the belt, I would imagine wearing it on the back would be the least out of the way.
