It’s my understanding that Ping doesn’t pay like the other larger OEM’s.

Doesn't Ping require a full bag deal, putter included? I would imagine that costs something.

Hey, Ping just makes better equipment! Good for him for switching.

Players that come to mind on staff with Ping that don’t have a full bag are Finau, Champ and Hatton.

Not any more. When Finau signed with Ping in 2018 it was an 11 club deal.

Maybe he felt Ping performed better than Mizuno. That’s always the case for me.

Eddie signed and looks like Matt Wallace is out. If you check the ping pro page he is not listed anymore.

That could be true. And if so be careful there are some people that dismiss facts and instead will resort to name calling.

I think this may have been a driver thing - Eddie has had the PING 410 in the bag all year, and Mizuno couldn't get it out of his bag for more than a tournament at a time. Both companies aren't know for their BIG spending on tour players - just keeping steady stables.

With the way every company has pushed metal woods tech in the last couple years ( not a single lemon in the 2019 crop ) - even the fringe percentage players in the big dog game like Mizuno have something for tour players to use. It probably came down to a new contract meant a requirement for a Mizuno driver in the bag and Eddie wanted to keep the PING.

Either way he's a solid players that speaks his mind and PING makes great gear too.

Haven't seen the "why" yet but everyone calling him a sellout for taking more money etc... Isnt it possible with him being a bit of a lightning rod on social media Mizuno actually decided to plit ways??

I'm a big Mizuno fan, but who cares. The truth is either Ping offered him a better deal or Mizuno decided to allocate their resources elsewhere. These pros can game any equipment just fine. I'm all for taking the most money when offered.
