Tampa Bay and ST. Pete Courses/Boys trip

Looking for recommendations on courses under 60 if possible. Thanks.

Where are you staying? Do you have a car? What time of year?

Late March and Tampa bay and yes car. Incoming from Jax.

$60 might be tough during March.

Fox Hollow in Trinity ~ 30 minutes from downtown Tampa. Should be around $60. Layout is great (RTJ) and conditions are good.

World Woods ~ 1 hour north of Tampa. Probably a bit north of $60 but still a great deal for what you get. Two great courses with typically very good conditions. Pine Barrens is the more dramatic of the two courses but Rolling Oaks is good too. If you go up there, play both of them.

Agree above, $60 is pretty tough during high season. I’ve seen Fox Hollow in the $70’s in March/April. There is plenty of golf, there just isn’t plenty of good golf. If you need to stay under $60 you can have your pick of courses, the conditions will be hit or miss though.

I am also looking to play in Tampa at the end of March before heading to streamsong. i am bit more flexible on greens fees. any ideas for best golf in or around tampa? @dmitchell165 @Jungleland

Tampa is tough @tonypizzle, sure I’ll get slammed from some of my fellow residents but we have a lot of poorly conditioned courses and the courses are in decent condition (TPC, Fox Hollow) are sometimes overpriced - especially TPC.
Here are some ideas:
Under $50: Crescent Oaks, Wentworth, Heritage Isles
$50 to $75: Saddlebrook Palmer, Fox
Take the ride north and play World Woods or Southern Dunes or go South and Sarasota has a slew of good, well conditioned courses.

Have not been down for 2 years but we would annually do a guys March trip. We played Dunedin which is an old ross track. Could suit what you are looking for, fairly cheap, good bones, conditioning not amazing but I would replay it. We played during the week one afternoon and were able to get around pretty quickly. Could hop down to Clearwater and hang out at Frenchys if weather is nice. That was always one of our favorite places to hang out at the bar.

Another one would be the USF course "The Bull". Decent, cheap, good warm up round course.

The club at Eaglebrooke in Lakeland is a good one as well. Right around $60, and probably the prettiest 2 finishing holes in central Florida (to me anyway).

Use golf now and book tee times close to day you are playing for best deals.

Lake Jovita in Dade City. Weekend rates are $60 I believe, and you can probably beat that if you book ahead via Golfnow etc and watch for deals.

If you need to stay closer to Tampa... I have played Northdale and Heritage Harbor in the last few weeks. Both are in good condition.

No, I would not put them in the same category as World Woods, Saddlebrook, Southern Dunes, Streamsong etc.

But the fairways are good, the greens roll nice and both are in your price range.

I too am headed to Tampa/Clearwater area for a trip in late March to get some rounds in. Unfortunately, most places on airbnb are booked, so if anyone has a connection on a place to host 4 guys that would be great. Last minute planned trip and we did not realize it is spring break week for families
