Wilson FG Tour V6-Now a unicorn?

So it's the off-season and I've been regretting getting rid of my FG Tour V6 irons. They're (for me) probably the best set of player's CB's I've ever bagged, but like a true club ho, I sold them like a fool. They're out of stock on the Wilson site so I am assuming a replacement is in the works. I've been keeping my eye out for a used set at the usual places. Ebay, Globalgolf, 2nd Swing, etc.. Not much t be found. During this past summer, I saw sets going for ridiculously low prices. Now that supply has diminished, prices are a little on the crazy side. I am watching one auction on Ebay which is already bid up over $500 and there are still 4 days left on the auction. I'm hoping at some point that a lot of sets will pop like the V4's did. I remember Ksouth sold a lot of those so hopefully someone snatched up a bunch of sets from Wilson.

So I recently got a hook up with Wilson. I ordered the blades as I love the look and feel of them. The new fitting system also does not work with the V6 head so I was unable to even hit the V6 but I could not believe how blade like it looks from address. Just a gorgeous little club. I'm going to see if I can put in an order for a set. How do the compare to AP2 etc? I saw the MPF ratings was very bad for them and figured the blade would be just as forgiving but the reviews on them are incredible. I'd love to hear more about the club. Looking forward to what they release next as the blade, staff wedges and D7 forged (if that's your kind of club) all look awesome.

Yes. I think they qualify, IMO

I've never been a big fan of AP2's. All I can really say about the V6 is that I find them incredibly forgiving for such and compact head. Distances for me with the V6 were very consistent. Love the weaker lofts 35 -7 iron, 47-PW for reference and the spin is excellent (on the higher side which I prefer) Most of all for me is the turf interaction. An absolutely perfect fit for my swing as I can tend to get steep at times.

Just fyi, I posted this elsewhere, but I’ll also post here. When you go onto the wilson website, click on the v6, and click the dropdown menu to either 7 club custom or 8 clu. Custom, it lets you order them. In fact, you get get any shaft at no upgrade price. I went through with thise and they took my money. I haven’t got the clubs yet, but 4-pc with steelfiber shafts for $875, it was worth trying. I’ll keep you updated on whether they come.

According to Wilson the V6's will soldier on for another year so whether that's strictly through custom order or they will make stock sets available again IDK. But given that you should still be able to find new or gently used sets on Ebay for the foreseeable future.

I’ve put an order in for the 4-GW and I’m going to reshaft with SPBx. Interested to see how they play. Such a perfect looking little iron

There should be a new V6 iron in the making. Release end of this season.

Do you know something? I heard likely not until into 2021 at least.
