Super Hybrid is designed to replace fairway woods, not hybrids.

Super hybrid is adjustable and only comes in one head shape in 3 lofts. No flash face.

Mavrik has 3 head shapes (standard, max and pro) is bonded and has a range of lofts in each head shape.

Um, since hybrids are designed to replace long irons, and high lofted fairway woods are designed to replace long irons - hybrids ARE designed to replace fairway woods.

I would guess a 23-degree hybrid wasn't intended to replace a 3 or a 5-wood, and that most people aren't going to hit 17-degree hybrid as far as a 15-degree 3-wood.

I have seen several hit the 17* farther than their 3 wood. The 23 will play like a 7 wood for most. Keep in mind that the COR of the titanium hybrid is quite a bit higher than the COR of most stainless steel fairway woods.

Realistically, a 7-wood is considered a high-lofted fairway wood.

I got the 20 degree Super Hybrid and hit it further than my Rogue 5 wood. I imagine the 17 would be comparable distance to a 3 or 4 wood.

This is pretty accurate. I found that the 17 degree super cranked down a degree to 16 was only a few yards shorter than a 3 wood.

regarding the OP's question. I would classify the super as a niche product that is really really good for its intended purpose. That being raw distance and a bit of a fairway wood replacement. So it will work great off the tee and really good lies, It is also pretty anti left for a large hybrid. The mav is much more of your jack of all trades. It is going to be more playable overall by design. It is still really good at distance but not your super hybrid long.

I have. It launches lower, little less ballspeed. More of a better players iron replacement.

I have been hitting the 17 and 23 degree super hybrid about 4 times/round. I am definitely hitting it better, after getting alittle more playing time with it. It is long, launches higher with less spin, and has a good feel and sound. I still haven't hit it enough to be entirely comfortable with it yet, but I am more impressed with it today, than I was when I initially put it into play.
