Fridgey WITB Uk (Mizuno, Taylormade, Scotty Cameron, Titleist, Mackenzie Walker)

Just thought I’d post my WITB, I’m a 8hcp from the Uk.

Just a normal bag really, nothing very flash compared to some on here.

The course I’m a member of is a heathland course, with some links elements.

It gets quite windy at times, hence the 1 iron which gets alternated for the 5wood.

Where do you play?

Love everything about your bag starting with your Sugarloaf carry bag!! That bag is pure class. All of your clubs are legit too. I’m really digging the HMBs and the 1-iron. Hit’em well.

Loving the HMB’s so far, lots of forgiveness and they look nice too.

Yeah Golfers Journal subscriber, play at South Shields GC. Alister Mackenzie done the redesign/ work on the course in the 1920’s I think. Up in the north east of England.

Love the bag. I first picked up a golf club at Whitley Bay Mini Golf Club when I was 10 or 11. We where on holiday visiting family and my grandfather took me (he didn't play, I was just bored!). That got me hooked and 25 year Slater still play the stupid game. Now live over in North Carolina but I still miss the charm and simplicity of playing golf back in the UK. It's far too 'manufactured' over here...

Bubba Whips, the Golfers Journal edition. They go really nice with the Mackenzie bag.

Would love TGJ to do something over here, fingers crossed something is in the pipeline.

Never played up that way, will look up South Shields if I get up there. Do you have another bag or does the Mackenzie hold up well all year round?

I’ve a few different one’s, Titleist Premium Pencil bag, Scotty pencil bag, Titleist 4Up Stadry stand bag, Titleist Mini Staff bag.

Generally use a pencil bag, not very keen on stand bags. The mini staff bag gets used when I’ve got the electric trolley out.

The Mackenzie is holding up well, but if it’s forecast rain I tend to leave it at home.

Pretty funny. You say, "nothing very flash compared to some on here" and then I scroll down and I see a 1-iron, a MacKenzie Bag, and a driver that says, 'Flash' on it.

I'd say your setup is pretty friggin Flash! lol.. Hit em straight!

Love that mckenzie bag, on the wish list that one, very difficult to find in the uk? Like those mp20’s! Bet that one iron stings when you catch the bottom groove on a south shields winters morning? Looks a beast an love the look but too much club for me these days!

I ordered the bag from Sugarloafssite, the import to the U.K. wasn’t to bad considering.

The 1 iron isn’t that hard to hit, loads of forgiveness. It just doesn’t sound the best, sounds really hollow.

mate i played with today had the taylormade 2 iron equivalent and sounded similar.

whats the white shaft in the 1 iron? Big fan of that scotty as well, good looking putter.

I went to the golf shop today and they had a couple to check out. All new. No demo.

Actually looks pretty darn forgiving for a 1 Iron!.... Is that an oxymoron? LOL!

What are your thoughts on forgiveness?

I find it pretty forgiving considering it’s got 16 degrees of loft. It launches easily, even off the turf. Shaft is Project X evenflow, not a bad shaft.

I'm interested. And I'm not a Titleist guy and haven't been a long iron guy in a handful of years (very much was, when I was younger and the golf ball spun!).

I'm gonna have to hit this thing when I get to start swinging again!
