Ping can’t get a PLD putter in his bag?

That has to grate their cookies.

That Glide forged wedge looks big next to the Blueprints, and I think Glide forged is one of the smallest wedges made by the big OEM’s.

Is that a new grip from Lamkin? ST Hybrid +2?

I love the size of the Lamkin TS1 which was a similar +2 size.

Nike way underated at the end their. Alot of top tour players wouldnt have use them for so long after if not. Alot of disappointed players when they exited.

The best of Nike was the guys at the Oven. They could make some sick gear including irons, wedges, putters.

The one thing they couldn't tweak much was drivers, and pretty much everyone dropped their Nike driver immediately once the contracts ended.

I agree with @nova6868 above, I think it was the metal woods that killed them, particularly drivers. I'm not sure why because lord knows there are smarter people over there than I, but they were chasing some super wonky designs. Everything with the woods towards the end was lower MOI and high CG due to that weird cavity design, the exact opposite of where the market was going and has since proven to have gone. I'm not sure what the thinking was there and maybe it was just a symptom of a greater issue within the division e.g. R&D/Manufacturing funds being slashed.

Has he always played a single bend putter? Thought it was a flow neck for a bit.

Crazy. Me personally i never felt they were hard to hit but i think they just had and outlook of oh thats just a nike set. They couldnt quite get over that plus theyre bold color and looks didnt help any. I personally liked the color and some of there looks like some of the vr lines and the vapor line that didnt go blue and green. At least they tried though. I didnt mind.

It wasn't as much "hard to hit" as it simply was not a recipe for the best performance, especially with what was coming out at the time. And you're right, the cosmetics kinda sealed the deal. You can look put the aesthetics if it performs, but if it is off putting in both areas? No good. I honestly think the writing was and had been on the wall for awhile so they just threw up a big hail mary with a weird design and wacky color scheme on the off chance that it caught fire and took off.
