Anddddd we're back.
Looking forward to watching McIlroy this year. Hopefully he hits the ground running as he always struggles badly after time off. Showed again last year that when he's on form he's unplayable. Interested to see how the new driver settles in as his driving accuracy always drops slightly for a few tournaments after switching each year.
He loves to bounce back and forth between models. Last week it was the MAX, now the standard lol. DJ is the same way.
Will be interesting to see if he really does game that hybrid.
Man, I hope he goes with the hybrid. I don’t really know why, I just hope he does.
Interesting the tour SIM hybrid heads don’t have full face scoring lines. First time they haven’t changed up the face for tour. They did it with the SIM Max fairways, so was surprised to see this today. Unless it’s more of a PR stunt since they got early traction with DJ bagging it and had to rethink their whole hybrid strategy for the year as a result.
I love that putter cover.
p760 long irons. Interesting.
Its impressive to me they get these guys to switch so easily. I feel like I would I be more hesitant in their position, I mean Rors was best in strokes gained off the tee last year by a landslide.
However, we love to see it here, hope it works well for him.
He has been at or near the top of that stat for years now, so I imagine his confidence in that department is fairly independent of the tools being used. Must be nice, eh?
I'm guessing the 5 wood might swap out the hybrid on occasion. I don't recall him ever gaming a hybrid. Would that be a first for him? Would love to see his numbers with each in comparison.
I think he's going to have a big year.
Rory said in his press conference that he switched drivers at 4PM yesterday. The 9° was too closed for him. He went to 10.5° and opened the face 2°.
Yes, lofted down 2º (to 8.5º) which opened the face as you mentioned

it is in their contract that they have to play the newest driver. They pay them the big marketing and advertising money for a reason
SIM Max Hybrid was in the bag today for 1st round at Torrey.
Do we have a pic of him actually bagging the hybrid?
He played the hybrid 100% today. Saw him hit it on the par 5, back nine, South Course at TP.
What Hybrid shaft is he using? Looks like an Original Hzrdus Black? Thanks
Interesting he did end up going SIM. He said on a video with TM he was going MAX.
Yeah he has had the Handcrafted HZRDUS 105 in both his driving irons in the past and how the hybrid.
Great shaft, have it in my 3HY
I think the Rory hybrid shock is hilarious. And I’m as traditional as you can get. Just stop calling them hybrids. They are simply 5-7 woods of yesteryear. Look at the size and shape. Haven’t been a hybrid anything in years.
Is it just me or are the TM guys all dumping their Hi toes?
That hybrid shot out of the bunker into the par 5 in his third round was insane. To hit that shot I would imagine he has some confidence in the club and it’s not for marketing.
Do the pros have access to flatter heads? I'm like identical size to rory and can't figure how he gets his driver to sit so level. My M5 has the toe way up

Look at tour issued heads on the BsT. All of them sit flatter then retail
Thanks man. Got some shop credit to burn. Might just try the pings, heard they can go 3 flat with the adapter settings.
Is his putter grip available for purchase anywhere?
I think TM has it available on their website
