This has got to be one of the most unintentionally funny instruction videos ever produced. Elkington's instructions are so indecipherably technical, you gotta feel sorry for Trent.

Haaaa haaaaaa. It’s like Michaelangelo teaching Trent Dilfer how to paint. I actually like Steve Elkington although he gets a lot of bad opinions on them. But when they say laymen’s terms is taken to another level. Haaaaa haaaaa

This video could go a long way increasing interest in bowling.

Holy crap that’s technical. I used to feel like I needed that level because I’m an engineer but realized that it was information overload so I told my swing instructor to tone it down and help me feel it more. It’s definitely helped.

The first thing that came to mind was the Tin Cup, got the shanks scene.

Wow! I just got a brain ache remembering the hours I spent trying to digest where this Elk stuff all started. It was entertaining watching the Morad guys attack the Slicefixer guys and the Sevam1 guys and the Martin Ayers guys. It was pretty territorial. Throw in the One plane guys, Bennet and Plumber and some of the up and comers and BOOM!

man I remember going down that Elk/SITD rabbit hole. Still trying to figure out what he means with the twirl because it’s the lead wrist that goes into flexion in the downswing, yet his motion seems to be the trail (right)...

Love his attitude out there though. Almost like someone bet him that he couldn’t get Dilfer pissed off enough to get physical with him.

LOL this wasn't a joke? Anyway, it does seem there is a school that wants to tell people all the little parts of the swing so you can know what's right. But of course we have no idea how to get to those points, so we have to see them for lessons. There are hints here and there though, and I've figured some stuff out, but it might be easier with a pro who can actually teach you the movements to get to those positions.

As for being an instructor - stick to the jam.

Well if Dilfer paid for those lessons he got his $$ worth in content. Indecipherable content but content nonetheless.

Didn't you folks see the part when Elk hit the iron absolutely perfectly and it made the "tour contact" sound? I mean seriously, just do that. It really isn't that complicated.

Disclaimer- I have never seen that person in the video before.

But. He appears to be able to hit the ball well from any position, Was he considered the quack or the genius ? And who is Casey ?

As for Elk. Any decent ( not good. Decent ) player doesn’t need an instructor who says that many words to them in 3 years much less one lesson.

4.33 was my favorite. When he talked him into putting his hand into his ( elks) armpit to feel the connection. And said “ an inch in front of your Teet”. Wow.

For what it’s worth i do get the sequence and connection he’s trying to convey from 306 to 430. But don’t feel the need to fondle anyone to understand it.

The guy Elk is giving a lesson to is an ex NFL QB and I think he played in a few of the celebrity pro-ams over the years. He’s a decent golfer, and I’m guessing being such a high level athlete, he prob told Elk to give him everything and he could handle it.

This lesson is essentially my nightmare. The second instructor I ever saw was somewhat like Elkington in that he had me thinking about like 50 body parts and positions and checkpoints in a one-hour lesson. I remembered absolutely nothing and walked out in a daze.
