These look so so good.
Don’t these have some sort of alien technology that will change wedge play forever?
Forward CG that is literally floating out in front of the face.
There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self. - Ernest Hemingway
wait, for real? how is that even possible?? haha.
Brushed Steel looks nice.
why don't they offer the 50° with 10° of bounce? it really bugs me
What did (do) you have to compare them against? SM6, SM7, Callaway, Cleveland?
Start watching around the 5 minute mark. You'll see the original prototype which is interesting to say the least.
Did the article say that the SM8s will be available for custom order at no upcharge??
Cobra SZ (9.5°) - Tour AD-DI 6s
Cobra SZ (14.5°) - Atmos Blue 7s
Titleist T-MB (3) - Modus 105s
Miura Y-Grind Blades (4-PW) - Modus 105s
Titleist Vokey SM8 (50-54-60°)
Scotty Cameron 2020 Special Select Newport 2
Those are really nice looking. Tough decision now between those and the Callaway Jaws! 🤔
Thanks, I love the shape. I think that is much improved.
I'll go ahead and be the first guy to ask... Any word on if they will be coming out with a raw finish?
really impressed with the looks here. usually not draw towards Vokey's, but these are clean. finish options are great too. going to go with 38/42/46/50/54/58/62 to combo with my t400s.

Yep, Raw is confirmed. Its still unknown if its Wedge Works only.

From all of the media releases I have read I am assuming that raw is a "stock" offering at no upcharge but has to be special ordered as you won't find them in the stores ready to be bought off the shelf. If this is true this is a huge leap forward, IMO. I am really a fan of the raw but in the past I have been hesitant to pay Wedgeworks prices for a wedge, as I consider it a disposable item because of groove wear.
Awesome.... Thanks! I will sit and wait patiently :)
My guess is if they have it, it would be released like the SM7 in WW. Would love to see it as a standard option, but I'm sure it was a decent money maker for them.
For sure. I bet its WW only. The brushed steel looks 10 times better than last year. I was a big fan of the steel gray finish in the SM6's.
Thanks for posting this. I am pumped for these. Pre-order date can't get here soon enough.
Grab a 52/12 and strengthen the loft 2deg. BOOM! 50/10
IMO Titleist/Vokey made a marketing decision based on the idea that the number of clubs sold in a continuation of the prior (SM7 and before) appearance would be generally limited to those who already owned them. The new appearance was aimed at a slightly different population who have shown the greatest propensity to spend cash on new clubs.
To me, the great advantage of the SM8 is that they dropped the price of SM7’s to $119.
The raw is not wedgeworks only but available through custom order.
Confirmed? SM7's said custom order only as well but that turned out to be WWs. I would love to get Raw and not have to pay $200 per wedge, plus shaft upcharges, plus shipping.
Was really really hoping the T grind was coming to retail....Guess that isn't happening
This is from the golfwrx article. I guess we will have to see once we can order them.
"The new SM8’s will come stock in Jet Black, Brushed Steel, and Tour Chrome, with the option for Raw available through custom order. Raw is the biggest news since it is normally reserved exclusively for tour and Wedge Works—and at an upcharge."
Thx. Fingers crossed!
Read an article on the Ping Glide Forged wedges
They also use tungsten in the toe (13g) for centering CG purposes. While they didn't add weight to the hosel, it makes me wonder where is the CG from front to back on this club?
Anyone from Ping measure this?
Hit these today at pga superstore, absolutely loved the feel and consistency of these
So my sm7 are flawed? LoL
I get trying to innovate to sell others, but this marketing is a stretch.
I did a quick search, and compared to the Glide 2.0 wedges, the CG of the glide forged is at the same height but .030"- .040" forward, which doesn't really seem like much.
Curious as to the reasoning of why Vokey only added the tech in the lob wedges.
The raw finish is a $15 upcharge on Wedgeworks.
