Hitting mat recommendations

Any recommendations for an outside hitting mat? I'll be hitting full wedge shots in the back yard and I'm tired of tearing up my grass. Thanks!

That being said I used some credit at a golf shop and bought one for $30+tax and it works fine if you want the easiest option. I like ones with a tee hole and the ones with multiple turf lengths are nice.

I don't have a recommendation but I will say that after I got one for my backyard, I got tendinitis so bad in my elbows and wrists. Just be careful.

You should check out the golf simulator forums, they have one dedicated just to hitting mats. I think most people are steering clear of the tall-pile mats like Country Club Elite these days due to wrist/elbow injuries being commonly reported, and are steering towards Fiberbuilt or TrueStrike (or a DIY TrueStrike, something I did for my garage setup). Though it looks like there's a new option people are raving about with a layer of flexible plastic fibers called the Quattro.

I have a Fiberbuilt that I use indoor 3-4 times per week in the winter and love it. It's 2+ years old and still looks like new. When I did my research before buying it I found that most people reported getting what you paid for.

You can hit flop shots if you want with the fiberbuilt because you can actually slide the club underneath the ball and hit it right on the face.

It punishes fat shots while making it very easy on your joints. The "flight deck" I linked is the cheapest way to get fiberbuilt turf. So basically you can buy this and build yourself a little stance matt or whatever so you're hitting even with the fiberbuilt.

They also sell a practice matt which is the 2nd cheapest way that comes with a stance mat and fiber built deck built in. I think it sells for $200 at costco.
