Great googily moogily, I hope that’s right on.
Times they are a changing, in a good way at PING. The blueprints really surprised me, and it’s good to see ping not hamstrung to have every iron with offset and wider soles.
Yes, I’ll put in my order now.
I like my i210s, but I don’t love them (I have three sets and still not the same magic as my i200s). My Blueprints, while tremendous, just demand too much every single shot.
This is what I was thinking too. Maybe Ping are trying to begin the “S” cycle but with an “i” nomenclature instead? If this is the iBlade 2.0 people have mentioned, then I’m in.
Does it show my Ping fandom of you had me all the way until the Masters tix???
You forgot the RAW option
Is there a sense of when? In the spring? Or summer?
I have been told by multiple people at Ping we won't see anything until early fall/late summer. I wouldn't expect anything much sooner.
Ping has been known to drop clubs at around the British Open.
If these are going to be released this summer, that would mean early fall for fitting, the best time to fit after the summer as swing is intact.
Sure hope the small cavity will also hold the possibility to swing weight the clubs as I HATE the screw that they are using now, looks horrible.
Several sources in UK committed April...
i would be shocked if they use the screw in the I and S series - they seem to be getting better and better about integrating the ctp into the design of the I and S series. Hollow irons, like the 500/700 need it due to hollow construction and the BP has very little material to mill away
Maybe a Ping 410 Crossover in a more compact less offset head? That may be a good cross between a iblade and i500. Thoughts?
I wish there was a definitive answer as to whether or not the inlanders replacement is coming this year or not and if so when. Lots of different answers to this question
Just saw this in Instagram.
If I had to guess, that looks more like an i500 replacement than a new iBlade/i59
I agree! I wonder what that thing is near the top line.
Guys relax.. It's a Photoshop. Thank god, look pretty horrid.
****, and I got all excited too!?!?
Yeah, Ping aint putting "PING" on any iron twice.
I guess nobody was reading the hashtags at the bottom of that pic. Haha. #artist
I guess they could have added them # shortly after posting. I pray the God iBlade2.0 won't look like these IRL 😄
I see "i59" published for opposition 1/28/2020.
"CA70" was published for opposition this week.
"GLIDE FORGED 2.0" and "G425" are also in the hopper.
"G410 MAX" was abandoned 12/16/19.
It's hard to say what any of these will amount to. I would guess that Glide Forged 2.0 will be released in July along with some sort of refresh to one or many of i210, iBlade and i500....and possibly the G410 irons being replaced with G425 irons.
As the abandonment of "G410 MAX" indicates, there is some amount of speculation in the trademarks that may not come to fruition.
Well I just ordered a new set of custom iBlades (unfortunately they have not yet decreased in price), however, the i59s are next up.
I thought iBlade were only available in stock configurations now?
My green grass retailer submitted my iBlade custom order to Ping yesterday without issue (not sure if this is considered a stock configuration or not):
PING iBlade irons 3 through PW - right handed - Project X LZ 6.0 shafts - 3 through 9 irons 0.25” short; PW standard length - red dot lie angles - Power Spec lofts - D1 swing weight irons 3 through 9 and D2 PW - Golf Pride Tour Velvet 360 standard grips (one tape wrap).
Agree. That’s turrrible loooking. Woof.
Was told last week by a rep they are making an Iblade 2.0 but they aren't coming out til fall 2021 or spring 2022.
I have been waiting for the next i blade / i210 iron set, but as of today i'm ending 30 years of mainly Ping loyalty and moving to another brand.
Ping UK and their complete lack of interest in hitting any sort of non-std spec for non tour / elite plays and their customer service department who just try to fob you off with responses like 'we are a mass production manufacturer and it can't be expected for us to pick heads for lightest weight as that would involve our tour department etc etc' have finally done me in.
I refuse to put myself through the hassle of wondering if the set of irons I'm going to get are going to come in at d4 /d5 (as it wouldn't be unreasonable to request at my lengths) or E1-E2 as the last set came in at. The thought of the phone calls etc again to get them sorted have put me off.
My 2020 £2k is going elsewhere!
