Has a 40-compression CORE (like the project a), "affordably" priced at 34.99 (like the project a), three piece (like the project a), and a urethane cover (like the project a). Other than the "HFM" second layer, seems pretty much like a re-named project a. Also available in yellow.

Saw TXG put a video up about it and that was my first question. Seems like a re-branded Project (a) and Project (s).

At $35 a dozen, they will sell because of their name but the Q star Tour for $20 is such a better deal.

I’m intrigued....can’t hurt to have some more options (or rebranded) for the average golfer and swing speeds.

The Q-Star Tour also retails for about this price. When the closeouts on the prior gen are gone, they're gone.

If the only change was the name its still a good one. What kind of name is Project a for a golf ball.

I will look to pick up a sleeve to give these a test. The Project A was a fun ball.

I never liked the Project A ball, felt like a brick to me. I grab the TP5/TP5x practice balls for much cheaper than these.

Still have a few Project A balls in my bag. I like them. Seems to fly a bit farther than the Chrome Soft, for me anyways. Glad it seems like this is just a change in name.

Going to try these and the new BS RXS for this upcoming season. Thinking yellow for this year too!?

At that point soft, mushy feel is the only benefit which is very subjective.

They aren't nearly as soft as they're advertising. They advertise the core compression, but the overall compression is going to be around 90.

In focus group after focus group when given two balls, testers almost always prefer the softer one. That's why the companies keep rolling them out.

I liked the "a" so me knowing me, I will try these. I still can't get myself to like the srixon, so hopefully these will be good.

I tested these on QC Quad when trying the Sim. I was surprised that I picked up decent BS from this ball compared to the Wilson low compression balls they had in the bay. Its definitely not super low compression but felt really good off the face. Trying them outside is a completely different story and I probably will never grab a sleeve but it seemed like a decent ball for the masses at this price point.

Because if breaking 80 is a great round for you, your average drive is 225, and you lose 2 or 3 balls on an average day, a urethane covered 3 piece ball at $30-35 is attractive.

Heres another reason. You’ve been playing $45 a dozen Pro V1-TP5-Bridgestone BXS and your handicap index is 8.4. You switched to one of the less expensive balls and your index is 8.4.

Imo most amateurs didn't like the brand 'a'. They believe they are more experienced than playing 'amateur' ball. No fault in them, as in golf, we all think we are better than how we play.

This is like titleist coming out with a tour soft. But this ball is actually urethane and more like 'tour ball's

Snell black and x are a better value and their performance speaks volumes... imo.

No. Project a is 70 compression.

It’s the CORE that is advertised to have a compression of 40 (which is why I capitalized the word). As mentioned, the Project a had about a 70 compression with the same core, and I believe it’s still the case for the new ball. The ‘a was great, and I never saw any distance loss and have plenty in my stash for cooler weather. Who knows if the name was a killer for it, but it definitely does seem that so many golfers have an over-inflated sense of their skill - maybe why the connotation of ‘amateur’ made it “bad”.

just got a sleeve. Was just able to put indoor today. IMO it’s almost the same than the a. Feel on putting is pretty good though. Very soft but not too soft.

The mantle layer is firmer than the Project a. It’s longer and very high spin inside 100yds.

Did they finally improve the yellow color or is it the same puke green/yellow?

Did anyone recieve their 'free gift' from TM for the project (a) ending survey?

I have a pkg from tmag coming tomorrow. It probably is that gift. shows 1.47lb so I believe it might be a dozen.

I played them in cooler temperature this winter in Virginia. I enjoyed it, plays similar to original chrome soft.
