TPT shafts with new graphics - 2020 AT&T Pebble Beach

Would love to give TPT a shot, too bad they choose to make access to their product limited and difficult.

What do we have here?

Still not feeling the naming style.. Even though Hi and Lö is an improvement.

They apparently only want to partner with select shops they feel will do their brand justice. They also pretty much hand-make every shaft so the production time is higher (apparently). I can imagine if you get a lot of orders flowing in somethings got to give and the first is likely an extra step or two which they don't want to forefeit.Yes, yes they do. Fantastic shafts though. These are supposed to have extra layers of carbon in stabilizing sections to avoid this issue.

The 14 I’ve been playing for over a year is still going strong and nothing has come close to beating it.

I think the extra layers they added to the tip and butt section fixed the issue. I haven’t heard of any others breaking. Mine is still doing quite well

The shaft break is probably the biggest reason why they don't make their products widely available. If it's through boutique retailers then they can control their messes. If hundreds of reports pop up about their $500+ shaft breaking, then their company would go under in a heartbeat.

So true.. That and they break all the time.

I've often wondered about the "hand made" thing. What is it about a hand made shaft that is better than a machine made one? I can see it with something like a bar of soap, but the tolerances on a shaft have to be incredibly tight to the extent that I would have thought only a machine could make one accurately enough. I'm happy for someone to educate me on this though.

Had a prototype I was able to test. They’re great but not worth the money in my opinion

Mine is doing great after two+ years of heavy use and even pulled one time to change adapters. So great in fact that when I cheated on it recently with a Ventus Black 6s Velocore and an Accra TZ6, neither one came close in consistency of dispersion or smash factor to the TPT.

They had a manufacturing process defect that was identified and since been corrected. No issues since that correction was made. New graphics look great.

I put mine up against Ventus 7X with all the same specs and it wasn’t even close. And I really liked the Ventus. It only reminded me how good it is.

What was so much better about the TPT? I also find the way they label their shafts confusing, I wouldn’t even know which one would be the equivalent of a Ventus Black 7X flex.

Dispersion. I’d guess the 14 HI may be the one most similar to the 7x.

Very different than anything I’ve played. Not boardy but not much kick. Very solid feeling.

I agree with ScottAZ. The TPT is unlike anything else in feel. Solid is a good way to describe it and not at all boardy. I can't think of a better way to describe it.

TPT is not hand made, just the opposite. Its the only shaft brand 100% machine made, that's why it has virtually no spine, and every shaft plays exactly the same.

I have a 110mph, and I play the 17lkp, which is consider a regular flex. It still recovers perfectly for a baby draw.

I have never tried or even seen in person TPT shafts. But, they always look super cool.

Just out of curiosity how many have you personally broken? As mentioned here they had a manufacturing defect with a batch of shafts and those seemed to be the only ones breaking. I've had mine for over a year now and I've had no issues. In one drunken round I even slipped and took a good 1" deep 6" long divot with my driver and the TPT shaft had no issues. I also swing 120+ and have an aggressive transition and still, no issues. I've tried a few different shafts since getting the TPT (Tensei both PW and PO in 70TX, a Tensei Pro Blue in 80TX, Nunchuk, DI7X to name a few) but I always go back to it.

Other than the batch with the defect it doesn't seem like breakage is an issue, especially with some of the guys we have on here that won them through the TPT fitting contest WRX ran late 2018 if it was a current issue we'd still be hearing about it.

I have broken zero. I mentioned here somewhere I have never seen a TPT shaft in person. But it was common enough to become a known thing.

Similar to Chrome softs. I have never personally seen an off center core. But it became a big deal and there is a stigma attached to that ball now right or wrong.

I would love to try a TPT shaft. I am sure the performance is wonderful. If anyone could break it. I could.. haha.

I want to try one. If nothing else it would look good in my bag.

Do we know the release date of these?

We've had the new lines in for about 3-4 weeks and we were told they wouldn't start shipping until end of March early April.

Is the only difference the graphics and slight change in naming convention? Or did they make changes to mitigate some of the "breakage" issues we were hearing about?

I would love to try them out but man its tough to justify the price of them with all the great shafts on the market.

They've made everything 1 flex stiffer to mitigate the breakage. They had to significantly stiffen the handle and tip areas from what I have been told, which in turn upped the "flex" 1 profile. So if you are traditionally an X player, you were likely a 15 of some sort, you would now be a 16, unless you really load it hard from the top or come over the top.
