    Haha

    You just need money.

But I agree, gotta have game if you throw you name on your bag - if you wear Loudmouth pants - if you wear white pants....

Have to agree with dubbelbogey, without sponsors or being on tour/teaching pro/ etc., name on your bag is a bit much....unless using to ID your bag :-)

Then again it's your bag, do as you wish.

80% of the people at my club have their name on the bag. All skill levels. Probably has something to do with if you buy it out of our pro shop as a member, there is no up charge for getting your name and the club on the bag.

I figured this would be a fun thread. I'm a 14hcp and it's my money, and so if it only cost me $10 for my name on my bag I'm doing it. At least you won't have to reintroduced yourself to the guys you just got paired with!

The Pro Shop of my club had a promotion with free names on new bags, so a bunch of people got it.

We play, we exchange cards with handicap info, I had seen In some clubs list of members and their handicaps, results are published with the handicap next to the name but there is an unofficial rule of having a certain handicap to have the name on the bag? It sounds like double digits handicappers shouldn’t be allowed to use blades, Circle Ts, staff bags or a caddy 😆

I put Pin High name/phone# labels on all my clubs...and I am a 12 HI! Forfend! If my name wasn't so long I would put it on my bag...on the outside chance that someone may be more reluctant to steal it versus an anonymous golf bag.

I bought a bag through the golf coach at my alma mater and when it came in it had my name on it. Really cool touch. This will also prevent me spending money on a new bag any time soon.

I guess these guys have it easy:

Rob Wilson who plays in my home club uses everything from Wilson Staff and I know a guy Y. Adams who used to game Adams, not sure what he’s playing in these days. But Scott Cameron doesn’t play golf and was surprised when I mentioned about SC putters

We used to have a dead horse icon with someone hitting it with a bat---- so you get the gist here----- I have said it before and will say it again------ Do what ever you want to. Personally it does not make 2 hoots to me if you have your name on your bag or not or what your handicap is. Life is too short to worry about what others say or think

I use the same Jones bag in the same green and white colors, only with embroidery in gold. Nobody has ever said anything. And I live in NJ - the fellas are not exactly shy about busting chops.

Not sure why this gets under some peoples skin but

I don't see the problem with someone having their name monogrammed on

a bag , I recently got a vessel 2.0 stand bag and have been thinking of getting

my name on one of the removable pockets , just something small and indiscreet .

I'd get tired of explaining "I didn't say which fairway" if I went with that one.

It is pretty funny how quickly people will judge others based on how that person enjoys their belongings.

Even more funny is the fact that people ask said people about the decisions they are about to make and hope it isn’t some faux pas.

Here’s a thought, do whatever you want and forget how people may perceive you. The fact that people will judge you based on the fact that you have your name on your bag says a helluva lot more about them than it does you.

To the best of my knowledge there is no USGA Rule on this particular topic. You can be a +3 or a 30HI. It's your game, if you want your name on your bag, go for it.

Totally agree with this. Customization in golf is a form of expression. I've even caught flack for having custom stamping on all of my wedges. People would be happier if they just had fun and spent less time criticizing others.

When I was JR and college golfer, we would always criticize or judge a player if they had a name on their bag......

now I am a mature adult..... LOL I don't give a crap anymore and life is much better haha

Ive played with some **** golfers to really good golfers that all had their name on their bag.

Used the free personalization through TaylorMade the past 2-3 years to get my name on the bag..

Regardless of handicap, I can think of a few benefits of having your name on your bag. Some have already been mentioned in this post:

    1. Your bag would probably be less likely to get stolen. If it is stolen, it would be easily identified by the police.
    2. Less likely for the bag drop attendee to place your bag on the wrong cart (at nicer courses and/or tournament play).
    3. Easier for playing partners to remember your name.
    4. More likely to keep your bag longer resisting the urge to buy new bags.

Vessel sometimes offers free personalization, and I’m contemplating taking advantage of it. Thoughts?

Your bag, do what you want, nobody outside of this forum will pay much attention to it out in the real world although some people on here (oddly) criticize the weirdest things. Not sure why people care what someone else does. I don’t have my name on my bag but a couple of my buddies have funny nicknames we call them by on their bags and we all think it’s hilarious.
