Wilson DUO Soft Spin

My local golf galaxy added more Wilson balls and was surprised to see Wilson DUO Soft Spin. The increased compression to 40 and the Wilson Shield looks great. Anyone game these? I liked the prior gen. But, it is not too different than the 50 Elite at a higher price.

Don't understand this ball?!?! Tried it when they first came out, wasn't impressed. Rather play 50s at a cheaper price too! Only thing I can figure is the compression/feel vs. the other Wilson offerings?!

True, perhaps a slightly different/better feel than the 50 and slightly better greenside spin.

Didn't find any better spin to be honest?! Not worth the extra $ to me.

I just picked up a dozen on a flash sale from Golf Galaxy, tried them on my putting machine. I really like the feel off the putter. I tried it against some noodle easy straight, definitely feels softer but not a game changer. Main reason I got them was to get a ball with possibly more spin so I can do chips with more air time than bump and runs and with my rewards I could get them every once in a while for $15-16. I've also got some 50 elites to try them against too. Just got a stay at home order for 2 weeks starting Friday, so I will try some backyard chipping as well.

got a trial pack of these, loved them, great finish, durability and feel. I am confused on where this fits in Wilson's ball line-up. It's not shown on the company website as of 4/27/20.., grabbed a 2 doz ZIP, love these too, but I think the cover of the Spin+ is better. takes me back to Titleist Prof

I think this should be mentioned in the under rated ball thread. How does the latest version of the Soft spin compare with the prior gen? In both case the suggested retail price was too high. But, a great ball when they are cheaper.,

Just bought a box of the soft spins yesterday locally for 14.99. Figured they would be good till it warms up and the greens get baked. Haven't used them yet, but like other staff balls, I'm sure I will like them.

Please, keep us posted. I think it's going to be a winner at that price.

Well I got out tonite and played 9 holes with this ball. For it only being 54 degrees, they were good for that. Overall the ball felt good off all clubs. I can't really speak to how they hold a green because anytime I had a full iron shot in, I blew it over the green. I was all out of sorts. But if it is cold out or ya have soft greens from rain they will be fine. I would not expect them to spin like urethane on a hard green by any stretch, but for the 14.99 i paid i am happy.
