Full set of epic forged irons for Phil?

Saw on Twitter Phil is bagging a whole set of epic forged? Anyone ever hit them?

I knew he had a couple of the long irons in his bag. This is the first I heard about him playing a full bag of Epic Forged irons. Very interesting...

Looks like a weighted driver of some sort.

I hit the PW at TXG. They are VERY long, I was hitting it 150y plus. For me, it's a no-go because they are very low spinning.

Phil was killing it today. Would be cool if these stayed in the bag.

Wonder what he’s got the lofts at. Must have weakened them.

He's been playing Callaway MB's from the 6-PW since the beginning of 2019 but I haven't watched. Hard to believe he'd be using those in his scoring clubs.

I think those are just long irons Brad. I think he has a current WITB on here. Dont be getting any ideas you have a basically new set of Gen3s haha. Unless you wanna sell...haha

What's even more interesting is what putter he's using. That sure isn't his normal Odyssey #9.

He’s been playing those for 2 months at least. I mentioned it while he was flying greens at farmers I think it was. I guess he finally figured out how to control the extra pop they give.

It’s not. Look at the picture. Those 3 irons visible are short irons. Notice the height in the bag . And the loft they have. Now notice the long iron poking from behind the towel . It’s several inches longer than the short irons that are visible.

Hea had the MBs out for a long while. Had the 13 x forged in for a few weeks with 5-6 irons in epic then went to these epic pros full set.

Yep it will increase bounce by 2 degrees, and remove some offset as well.

It’s the Momentus Power hitter driver. I owned one of those years ago and hated it with a passion. I think I gave it away to a friend I secretly hated.

I’m surprised these wouldn’t still fly too much for Phil. Even at the 2 degrees weak.

oh lord. You know me. I can’t never stop looking. I’ve always been intrigued by these but figured they would fly too far. Have to admit.... hard to believe they could beat the Gen 3.

Yeah looked like several Epic Forged. Well if it gives amateurs extra 15-20 yards like me imagine what would do for Phil. If he used yesterday on 8 under round keep playing them!

They were longest iron Ive hit in last 1-2 years. Once they go to Callawaypreowned I may get a set. But you can sell me your Gen3 haha

Wouldn’t surprise me if he didn’t. He’s obsessed with distance. His old set of 731pm irons from Titleist played off a 45* pw.

Go Phil! I have a full set of them and was going to sell them on several occasions but I can’t part with them. I just ignore the number on the club and play to my yardages I’ve established for them. Give Phil a break. He is getting older and needs to still compete against the young studs. I finally have my Epic Forged adjusted to my game and considering his pull at Callaway, he would have his dialed in exactly the way he wants them. For me, compared to the Apex CF19 with the same shaft, they play about 1 club / 10 yards longer.

Yeah think about it if he is 2 clubs shorter into green he can light it up.

I doubt he weakened them, at least much anyway. He's always strengthened the lofts on his irons. Not quite that strong but it would be a natural progression for a soon to be 50 year old obsessed with distance
