which travel bag should I get suggestions please

Recommended Posts

Currently looking at club glove collegiate or the pro 1 which is a little bigger

than the collegiate and is also $70 more, I have a vessel 2.0 stand bag so leaning towards the pro 1

any help would be appreciated , also looked on eBay and everyone charges insane shipping rates like $80

so I'm not paying $200 plus for a used one .

love my club glove, id say go for the bigger one. unless you load your bag to the gills its nice to have the extra room in the travel bag for shoes/clothes etc. Ive packed a ton and still fell under airlines weight limits no problem.

the nice thing about the clubglove which i dont thing is advertised enough is that the handle can strap onto the top of your rolling carryon/checked bag and it makes rolling around a breeze.

Dont have any experience with the glider but have heard nothing but good things and probably will go with that once my club glove gets worn (which will likely be never).

I have this Bag Boy travel cover: https://bagboy.com/collections/bag-boy/products/t-10-travel-cover

Has a harder shell around the club heads and is a soft body everywhere else. Have flown about 10x with this bag. Never had an issue with club damage. However, I always remove the shafts from my woods and use a backbone (https://bagboy.com/collections/bag-boy/products/backbone).

Bag also stores compactly. You can fold the bag into the top harder shell. That's actually how it comes packaged if you order online. Probably not as easy to roll as the Sun Mountain referenced above, but I've never thought it was cumbersome to roll my bag and I value storage space over that anyway.

Another vote for the Club Glider. Borrowed one from my co-worker for a trip. Liked it so much I ordered it when I got to my hotel room that night. I actually suggested he buy it based on the suggestions from this forum. I just wanted to see if it actually was as nice as people said it was before I pulled the trigger. He was my guinea pig :) LOL!!!

No one with issues on the club glider materials? The bag just doesn’t seem as tough as the cordura material or whatever it is from club glove.

There are a number of questions you will need to answer. How often will you use the travel bag? How much are you willing to pay? Do you want a hard or "soft" travel case? Plus other questions.

A hard case is nice but does not fold up and takes up a lot of space. Club Glove and others make an excellent product but are expensive.

There is a company called Caddy Daddy that makes several quality reasonably priced travel covers. Their Caddy Daddy Constrictor 2 is moderately priced but, a great deal in quality and value. Rock Bottom golf sells them for about $85. You can save an additional 15% this weekend because of a Presidents' Day sale.

I have the Mizuno Traveller Club Pro and I like it. It has a lot of extra room for shoes, shirts etc.

Rolls easy and looks great.

Another for the Sun Mountain glider.

Last time I traveled the doorman asked if he could help, and I asked, "Will you take the clubs?" He made a joke about just kidding because I gave him the heaviest bag. I said, just give it a little tap, but don't let it get away from you... They truly are the easiest club bag with which to get around.

I've got the Meridian and my wife has Glider the smaler Journey.

Yup, one finger can move it on smooth surface like a hotel or airport. One wants to keep a hand on it on a slight incline waiting for a cabor such as it can take off. I had a wheel come off on my last trip while being careless over a sidewalk gap but an experienced luggage repair shop fixed it. About to take it on it's 50th or so plane ride next week - got it in 2009.

Club Glove colleagiate should fit the vessel 2.0. My bag is based around the similar bag and design and is actually bigger than the recommendation of the club glove - it still fits.

The cordura material for me is a plus point, as it's way more durable. The colleagiate also upgraded from the burst proof to have the pouches on the outside, which should give some more space. The top padding is also very nice and generally, has a very solid feeling.
