So I went in for a driver fitting today. Currently game the Callaway Rogue Sub Zero with the Kuro Kage Silver TiNi 65 Stiff and while I have no real complaints with the Rogue I've been getting the new driver itch lately.

Baseline numbers with the Rogue Sub Zero:

106 MPH Swing Speed, 155 Ball Speed, 2200 Spin

First thing I get put in to was the Mavrik Sub Zero with the Aldila Rogue. Duck hook after duck hook. I wish I could say more or anything really about this club but we gave up quickly after less than 10 swings and moved on.

Next was the SIM with HZRDUS Smoke Green 6.0. Finally the ball was airborne but still hugging the left side even when I started the ball on line. Ball speed was good sitting around 156 but holy cow if you hit this thing high off the face good by spin. Low 1000's and heading left! We moved up to the HZRDUS 6.5 and that helped straighten out the ball flight but the spin numbers we're too low even on good strikes, sub 2000. We moved over to the SIM Max and switched between the 70 gram HZRDUS 6.0 an 60 gram HZRDUS 6.5. Ultimately the lighter weight and stiffer flex combo felt better. Much better spin number with the Max but ran into the same issue of high in the face hits with incredibly low spin. I will say that my miss is high toe and both the SIM and SIM Max seem to not like the ball there. The distance you get off of them is impressive for mishits but these were resulting in OB left shots. Overall I liked the Max and was sitting around 156 ball speed like the Sim but with better spin numbers around 2400 (taking out the duck hooky ones) but still the high toe duck hook were too frequent.

Next was the TS3 with the Even Flow X Flex. Really great looking and sounding driver, actually best sound of anything I hit today but the spin numbers were high. 2700-3000 consistently and the ball speed was only around 154. We tried a couple other shafts because I liked the look and sound but nothing really got me there.

I hit the Cobra Speedzone (non max I believe) and wow this thing is a rocket. From address it looks like it sits very open which to me is confidence boosting as my miss is left. I hit 159 ball speed a few times and was sitting comfortably at 157-8 with spin around 2400. This was a real contender.

Last thing I tried was the Mizuno ST200G and with the Fuji Atmos 6x and I assumed it would perform a lot like the TS3 and while it did in the looks and sound department it was also a ballspeed monster. 160, 161, 160 on my first 3 swings. I was sitting 260-265 carry pretty much all day and flew it over 270 pretty much every time with 2300 spin. I was skeptical about a $500 Mizuno driver but the results were incredible. It of course had the same issue as all of the low spin drivers on the market where high toe shots are very low spinning but you can't blame the club for that and the ones that were high toe were no where near as wild as SIM.

I ended up going with the Mizuno which btw do free shaft and grip upgrades and you also get a case of their new balls for free with the purchase. For those on the fence about the Mizuno go out and hit it.

So glad to hear this. I currently play the ST190G with Atmos Black 6x and thought it would stay in my bag for quite a few years...until the 200g came out. After chatting with a Mizuno rep about it I ordered it without even trying it. ST200G with Ventus Black 7x on the way. Can’t wait to hit it

How were you able to order with the Ventus Black? On Mizuno's site the shaft selections are very limited. I've tested both ST200 and 200G twice now at PGA Store and love both models. I haven't gone through with the order yet but by the end of the week I probably will

I've tried every driver multiples times now and finally settled on ST200 or ST200G... going back today to focus on only these 2 drivers and make a decision

The first time I hit the 200G my avg spin was 1718!!! I wasn't spraying it all over but that spin number scares me. Ball speed stayed between 157 - 161 with launch just over 12*. ST200 brought spin up around 2400 but launch went up to 14*. ST200 is definitely more playable and forgiving but the potential of the 200G really intrigues me. I've never owned a Mizuno driver so I need to play with the weights on the G to see if thats the better route to go. The standard 200 I think I could loft down for launch windows and spin I like to see

I have a Ventus Black, LA Golf Ozik Black Tie, and Tensei Pro Orange currently with TM tips so I could probably change all 3 with mizuno tips

Wolv, have you hit the ST190?

I've been a 910 player for years and finally found a driver in the ST190 that felt, sounded and looked as good. But ultimately it was longer and as forgiving as the old faithful 910.

I'm curious if anyone has played the ST190 extensively and is changing to the newer model?

So what did he say to make you order without trying?

I probably shouldn't be asking these question, I'm perfectly happy with my ST190...but ya know..

I'm strongly considering a driver fitting this year and I think the ST200 and the Cobra will definitely be the directions I'm learning. I'm ready to play something other than TaylorMade at the top of the bag.

Did you get the standard Atmos 60X shaft or the Tour Spec?l Man, I’ve still got a Mizuno ST180 with a Kuro Kage Tini that is low spin and goes a mile. (I’m one who actually likes the blue head the most.)

Because I love my ST190G and my rep told me the 200 is even better. That’s all it took for me but I’m a hoe so it doesn’t take much.

Good to hear this. But you appear to have hit the Miz last in your test (as your post suggests.) Were you warmed up the most by this time and in the zone more than the other drivers or was it always ahead for you ? 👍🏼

Give it a go. I absolutely love mine and they can be had for 150-200.

I wonder if the 200 is worth the extra $$

Having never hit a Mizuno driver before I tried a ST200 9.5° with ATMOS Black TS 6x at a local golf dome 3 weeks ago.. really liked it, but not wanting to buy yet another new driver over the winter (I won't be swinging a club outside until May..) I opted for a ST190 9.5° with ATMOS Black TS 6x...I have yet to hit it, but really looking forward to testing it out during my next trip to the golf dome..

Of course with the prices so reasonable for them I also picked up a ST190 G driver and a ST190 TS 15° fairway to test out as well...

And did you say a “case” of their new balls? I have played it and it performed well. Is that a dozen or several dozen? At $40 per dozen, that is worth something.

I tested and got fit for the 200 with Atmos black 7s. Found a 190 with that shaft along with a 190 3 wood with same shaft. I saved $200 and got the 3wood for free essentially. I couldn't justify the extra cash. Both are fantastic! I came from an m1 and while the m1 may be a touch longer overall, I could still hit it off the plane left and right at times. the 190 is by far the best driver I've ever had in the bag.

For me, this darn ball scuffs up bad after I hit one wedge... and I’m not that high spin with my wedges. Strange.

Is the Diamana D+ Limited a true Whiteboard in the 200G??... Ive never swung that shaft before but always knew the popularity behind it. Im not up to date with all the later and newer versions. I saw yesterday there's an updated version with more flexes and weights available

but is the D+ Limited offered in the 200G the same shaft currently on MCA's website?

No idea about the quality of the ball but a dozen free “premium” balls with the purchase of the driver is nice regardless.

I had the same problem. Played them back in April and went through a dozen in 3 rounds. I've heard they updated the cover but not 100% sure of that. Its a shame b/c its a really good performing ball with tons of spin, but that cover makes it an expensive ball pretty quick throwing a ball out each hole

I was told that it is the same as the aftermarket diamana shafts. Not a made for shaft. Here’s an article from ****: https://****.com/mizuno-st200-driver-review/
