Old SLDR 12* Driver Head Weight?

Were these heads extremely heavy by chance? I found an old one and popped a suitable shaft in it and took it out for a round today. SW has got to be somewhere around D7 +. I tend to fair better with head heavy drivers and was curious if they came this heavy or perhaps someone hotmelted it prior to me. I shafted an old R11s with the Bubba bymatrix shaft with the steel tip and it came in at E1! I really like the flight of the SLDR, but good god it's allergic to the right side of the course. I would love to find something similar that is either flatter or more open. The SLDR fits me spin wise pretty well at 11* or so I think I have it set at.

Seriously, dont you even have a grams scale you can put that head on? no matter what official specs might be, the head you got might be different, hot melt could have been added etc, so the only way to answer your question is to put the actual head on a grams scale.

But the stock SLDR's weren't really all that heavy. If memory serves maybe ~208 gm w/ adapter. But as Howard said, only way to know what might be going on with your particular head is to weigh it.

Do you know the weight of the adapter on this heads Stuart? 6-7 grams? The OP can take the head off and put on a gram scale, but since we count weight included the adapter thats now on the shaft, his return value from the scale will be lower than actual weight, so he needs a correction factor for the adapter anyway.

Yes second hand heads can be very different from standard specs, both changeable weight and Hotmelt is potentially used, so it want help much to judge THAT head vs standard specs unless we get to know its actual weight.

TM adapters vary in weight since there are a few different variants but more typically the retail ones are around 6 gm.
