My father and I got fitted this weekend. Heroes pricing couldn’t have come at a better time for him. I am sticking with my 919T’s, though I am considering a driver. The PXG guys out of Pittsburgh and Boston were awesome.

Why did you have to post this? I'm trying to save up as much money as I can so I can retire early. I was thinking that these wouldn't go on Hero's pricing until much later this year, at which point I was hoping to have forgotten about them.

I personally can’t afford the 3 series but I did buy the 0211s.As far as fleecing goes nobody is forced to buy anything and if you want them and can afford them I would not call that fleecing.

I think you mean tax refund...everyone files a tax return whether or not they get money back.

It's still $2,700 for a set of 8; I can get a full bag fitting, and the bag, for that kind of scratch. No thanks.

Since we are correcting others, no, everyone does not file a tax return.

My fitting is scheduled for next week. Thinking hard about a blended set of T’s and P’s but we’ll see how the fitting goes.

Do people spend more than that on putters, drivers, fairway woods, etc? YES

Are people forced to buy these? NO

Will I get a tax refund? Hopefully

Will I be buying a blended set of gen3 PXG's? Most likely.

Why are people so concerned with other peoples spending habits? If it's not your money, don't worry about it LOL. It's amazing to see the PXG haters chiming into some of these threads just to complain about how they don't like Bob Parsons, the company, the clubs, or the pricing.

I don't think people are concerned with other's spending habits are trying to tell them how to spend their money. Rather, I think people are displaying their disapproval of a company's business strategy. Bottom line, it's not about you, it's about the company.

So what exactly is it that they disapprove of ? It’s a premium product aimed at a small market. I recently retired from Road Bicycle racing. I had a road bike that cost about $10k to build up. My carbon racing wheels were $2200 a pair. My Time trial bike rear disc wheel was $2000 alone. Would a pair of $200 wheels gone round and round just like the carbon wheels, yes, but the performance benefits for me was worth it. If someone demos PXG’s and feel they have a performance benefit, even it’s only in their heads, why shouldn’t they spend the $$$.

when I demo them, if I feel they perform better, a pair of wheels will be going on eBay !,

Whether or not you believe it makes a difference or not, the manufacturing process of the 0311 line is very expensive. While you may not perceive that as quality, some people do. As for being made in China, not all Chinese manufacturing is equal, just as not all American manufactured products are equal. There are some great manufacturing plants in China, and there are some terrible ones. You can't just assume that all products made in China are inferior. As for technology benefits, there is a reason Taylormade had to settle a lawsuit with PXG for patent infringement. And there is a reason every other manufacturer has copied the hollow iron design from PXG. BECAUSE THERE IS A PERFORMANCE BENEFIT TO THE DESIGN ! As for individual performance, it comes down to just that.......the individual. Some people may see a benefit and some may not.

Even if you only see them as a "lifestyle" brand, why complain about them.
