Would like to list item

Rookie!...read rules but not sure how to PM or list something in For Sale section. Pinned or not?

any advice on how to transact such an item. Have pictures and original invoice...less than year old. Should I avoid electronic means and go face to face or is there a safe way for both parties over Net.

First off go to the classified section and read the rules

you will have to pay to get a item pinned

you have to have at least 75 posts to start a thread for sale

PM is the little mail icon at the top right

you can also click on the persons icon and then click message the person

Always always use PayPal as a sale never use send money to friends or family (gifting)

I use PayPal for family and friends but what happens if you use this option for a sale to someone you don’t know? What is the fee to do this?

If you use this for a sale there is no fees but also no protection. If your selling a Flightscope you will want protection on the sale. Lots of things can happen. It is protection for you and the buyer.

Sorry don’t know the fee off the top of my head. It’s a percent of the amount. Look on paypal for the answer

One other thought...I always pay others on PayPal. I’ve never received payment thru PP. How can I ensure buyers uses correct options?

on PayPal there are two options:

1) paying for good and services (fee but protection)

2) sending money to friends/family (no fee and no protection)

You must use option 1. You will pay the fee indirectly (say seller pays $100, you will get $97...you’re not paying out of pocket, just receiving less). You cannot request the buyer use option 2 because that is against the rules (because it saves you money but offers the buyer no protection and you can just disappear).

So from your standpoint it’s simple. If you agree to price, seller sends you money to your PayPal account. You are basically like an online store at that point. You have the money, but then you have the responsibility to ship the item. If you don’t, the buyer can initiate a claim and PayPal can take the money back from you (protection for the buyer)

I’m not at risk but he is so the buyer will do what’s in their best interest. Makes sense. Is there any problem moving the transaction to your bank account from PayPal, especially for a large sum.
