I was fit for these years ago and we all know the drill.. what’s new and shiny

decided to throw these back in.. my god they are truly like cheating.

. I still feel..

based on performance, finish etc.. these are the best irons PING has ever produced.

i even added the SW which I never used as a trial and wow. Easy to hit but still chip with.

hope this lasts cause my golf game will thank me for it lol

I have a set of original Eye2's refinished and a set of G410's. So i'm burning the candle at both ends here!

I rarely have the desire to hit my old clubs. I still have my Apex Pros and hit them a few weeks back. I don't miss them

Traded off my 1st set of Eye 2 and regretted it for years. Replaced them with a full set of refurbed 2-L Eye 2 and although I don’t play them much, I do enjoy seeing them in the backup bag.

Ironically I replaced my Srixon 745s back in October when I picked up an excellent condition set of Ping Eye2+ 3-PW with Ping KT-M shafts. Once I realized that they are about 1-1.5 clubs shorter, I've been playing some fantastic golf with little practice. They are just so easy to hit and very accurate. It's probably due the KT-M shaft which I believe is a 109g stiff that plays closer to X. The 3, 4, 5 irons have been deadly.

Finding those irons led me to the Ping G30 driver and 3W which have been great and I just picked up an Ping Anser 17* hybrid.

I don't think it matters much. I currently have the 5-irom bent strong to 25 degrees. For any of the new sets, I can probably play 6-iron PowerSpec and 7-SW normal and have the same 24/25 degree to 54 degree range covered. The gaps will be a bit bigger but if anything I think the newer ones are slightly better.

But the G25s are still good clubs / plenty playable. Many seem to say the feel is better on these than the hollow designs or thinner faces (to the extent anyone playing GI/SGI irons really cares - I don't) with the new ones a tad more forgiving/better on the mishits.

My other idea is to buy the G410 hybrids 22-26-30 and then some smaller headed iron from the 7-iron or 8-iron down. However, I tend to like having as many clubs as possible setup, look, feel, etc the same and I also want a set that I can buy through the SW (which you can't do in more players irons). Consistency/same club design is one thing I like about my current bag.

I just received a set of these on Thursday. Played the G15 irons for a few years and loved the performance, not the look so much. Several iron sets later I decided to go back to that "G" performance and , to me, these (G25) are by far the best looking of G line of clubs. Now, personally I do not care for the ferrule on the last few G designs, so that fact limited my options. Warm yesterday for February here in Michigan, so off to range to try them out and all I can say is "it is good to be back!!!". Now range balls were still cold, so feel was not spectacular, but no hiding what these clubs shine at even with a rusty swing. Has me looking forward to warmer weather. Picked up 5-UW with steelfibers and now thinking I need a couple G25 hybrids to fill out the set, just because.

Currently waiting on the Adams cmb heads I bought in the classified section to be ready for me to game... really excited about them! Still putting with an original black two ball with the white hot face.

Those aren't old Pings, these are. I still game these, even though I also own a set of i20's, G10's and G30 irons. Just can't find anything that has been able to knock the i3os out of the bag.

ODOFUPRWBLL8.jpegThis set. Still the best iron I’ve ever hit. 681 proto. No 681 or T stamp. Tour hosel player ID stamps. Low weight , great sole shape. Still haven’t been able to replace them. They may go back in the bag. Faces are well worn. But turf interaction is sublime.

I recently went retro through the bag after my TS3 and Srixon Z785s were just "good". I'm gonna play stuff I like vs chasing launch monitor improvements.

DRIVER: G LST w/ Accra Tour Z CB (like the Dragonfly and it sounds less jarring than G30. Really, unless spin is a issue G20/25 are still great clubs. i20/25 are great for consistent swings. Anser with a good shaft... )

3 wood: JPX 900 (love the matte blue. Came stock with Speeder 661 evo II - great combo)

Hybrids: 2017 M2 (stock shafts actually match really well with this great looking head)

Irons: MP 32 (w/ original Rifle 6.0s - harder to find than DG s300s but sooo good together. 5.5 is great too)

Wedges: SM4 (getting harder to find in good shape but worth it)

Putter: 2015 GoLo 3 (I may be (okay... AM) in the minority but I love this redesign. So stable. The goofy aluminum sightline grows on you and actually is quite effective for alignment. Can still find mint used ones at decent prices. Mine was $180 US with the plastic still on the sole)
