Dormie Headcover Issue

Just curious if any dormie headcover owners have had quality issues with your covers. I just received a new one yesterday (my first one) in a camo pattern that has a very distinctive smudge mark on the camo pattern. And alot of the darker colors were already washing out, had distinct distinct snowy white dots in the dark colors.

Ive already started the return process and hope its not a hassle.

Over the long term, how do the colors on these hold up (specifically camo patterns?), is this common? If so im going to order one that uses a more solid color pattern.

I hate to be nitpicky, but this is not a $20 headcover either.

First of all, cool looking cover.

Secondly, I believe that's just the nature of applying a pattern to leather like that. You can see just from this picture how surface of the leather is not smooth and IMO what you see are spots where the substance (paint, dye) used for the pattern hasn't gotten down into the nooks and crannies of the surface and the base white shows through. You can see it in several other spots as well, just not as clustered as the spots you highlighted. Not saying that it should or shouldn't be better for the price of the cover, but I'm not entirely certain you'll be able to get a better finished product.

Just get ahold of them and see what they can do. My two covers were actually lost in the mail and they made me two new ones and sent them expedited shipping. Can’t say enough good things about the quality, the guys, and the company in general. Price is high but they are well worth it.

Full disclosure, I grew up about an hour from Halifax, Nova Scotia so I am rather biased. However, these guys and their products are second to none.

They were very responsive, and got back to my customer support email within a couple hours. They agreed it didnt look right, and are sending me a replacement. I opted to just have them switch it to a different cover that has a more solid color pattern which they were fine with (if the camo patterns are harder to dye and create uniform colors, i guess i can understand that, just caught me off guard. Either way, they made it right. No harm done. Thanks for the info.

One last follow up. These guys were great to deal with about handling a return. Quick turnaround sending a replacement out to me, and they threw in a little extra gift for the hassle. New cover looks great, very high quality product.

Just some information sharing. Background I mainly do flammability but I do work with materials in the aviation field, both commercial and executive.

With natural leathers every hide is different, that's what makes it unique and can cause slight "natural" blemishes. If this happens on another cover or one that can not be returned, one thing that can be done is touch up ink. This is done commonly or airplane seats (heavy usage) instead of replacing the whole seat. If done correctly it's not noticeable (including the uber rich with private jets) and they B$%^& about everything.

Also, a second option for covers there are synthetic leather out there with the feel and and fake natural pattern look. But the colors are very well done and issues like that wouldn't happen.
